  1. what people are not understanding with a DV is most of the time they are for cars with slightly uprated boost. For example car X is running a run of the mill DV valve and Car B has a HKS SSQV with the ability to compress the Dv spring. Now when most people think there cars are having issues with DV most people immediately think its the Dv fault and change back, however this is not the case, i found out first hand while working on my mates EVO 6 that a spring can make the difference between **** acceleration and jerkiness to swift gear changes. Now car X run of the mill Dv does not have the ability to change the spring (early baileys didnt ) and as such due to running more boost than standard the Dv is staying open during idle as there is more pressure, causing a idle surge and back acceleration. Now car B, has just had a remap and is now running more power but due to the ability to compress the spring, a swift change is made and as such it now closes correctly. do not be put of by the scaremongers or people that say your car will blow up etc, use a proper brand ( ive had baileys, forge , HKS) all have had no issues at all, if your turbo has steel internals e.g IHI or a ceramic internals, DO NOT run without a recirc or a DV as the added load of the turbo spinning backwards during gear changes ( chatter) will cause the shaft to break. On my mates Tial on his evo the spring is colored and a simple equation is used to work out the spring that you need, once this was sorted he no longer had a boost spike, not all DV have the ability to change springs. Cheers for reading.
  2. As stants said really good meet for the first one, not a bad meet after as well :) however I was baltic by that point lol pics will be on tonight.
  3. Haha :) never heard that lol. Mickey you coming to the meet next week?
  4. Are you going external wastegate as well? Awsome build mate :)
  5. Good ones go for 9.5k upwards if mint and good mods, that said I would be put off by the repairs that it would have had if I was spending that sort of money, also when you come to sell it will be alot harder, it will also show on log book and vin checks, I would say if it was me I'd pay no more than 6.5 depending on mileage and spec
  6. ive just had rears put on mine but due to coilovers being fitted, i would say to get the right amount of camber on each side get coilovers. not worth a bodge job if im honest.
  7. http://www.jperformance.co.uk/subaru-impreza-wrx-sti-gda-gdb-catback-cat-back-exhaust-system-p-872.html this is it but mine is 3 inch and sheffield. i could deliver for pennies as missus loves chesire oaks. or courier
  8. i got mine off ebay, mine is a genuine HKS that they made for the classics, these appear every now and again and are like rocking horse, i fitted a generic one when i had one on my skyline and worked exactly the same, just have to circlip the adapter to the DV
  9. ahhh :) awesome shots, my main one that i want to do next is stars :)
  10. youve ripped it out ? i would make sure you havent locked the ecu as the immobilisers is connected. clifford G5 if i was to get one.
  11. i am indeed matey, Glenn recommended them, and upon speaking they sound very professional, they sit me in the car and adjust it for what roads and my body weight
  12. have you had the code reset after the new part was fitted, if not that could be your issue, unplug the battery fro 15 mins and that should reset the ecu as well :)_ i do have a decat downpipe that will fit yours if you wanted :)
  13. good to hear :) yeah im dreading the 1.4hrs drive though haha :) back will be a different story lol, how long was harry shouting at cars after i left ?
  14. Ive posted a few more in my build thread of when i went to castleton the other day :) got a tripod now as well so hopefully will start getting the better pictures.
  15. Race Logic Coilovers fitted and front and rear Alloy drop links, also got some nice Gen STI Fog Covers but they arent going on just yet. Today im going to have to raise the car slightly as im scraping really bad, this is due to the coilovers being set up for a different car, so ive booked into the specialist in Leicester for full laser alignment and fast road setup :) Undersealing to happen as well if the weather holds off, Stay tuned folks. heres some pics that are from the meet last time and also from when i went to castleton :)
  16. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-HKS-SSQV-dump-valve-200sx-skyline-rx7-supra-turbo-bov-/171747883805?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item27fcf8bb1d just get the intercooler adapter, mine was off a EVO6 when i put it on scoob lol
  17. well, it was a !Removed! experience haha, i pre planned the route that i could take, but noticed that the right side is lower ( this is the side scraping) going to take it off today and do some under sealing :) hows the car now ?
  18. i have a full 3 inch system but its for sale matey. £100 from turbo back
  19. Mr syvecs, Yes he is.... wouldnt i let him touch my car again , would i !Removed! remapped my car with a broke cable and blew my ecu, and as for clinic, how many law suits are they going through or have been through with trading standards due to miss sellings etc... im not going to get into it as clearly it will be a wasted effort on the keyboard but for anyone going or thinking of using the clinic be aware, you WILL sign a contract upon getting there. They will make up some BS why you car hasnt made the power ( mine was turbo was on the last legs) BUT wait MR SYVECS didnt read that the monkey of the dyno guy had uplugged my boost solenoid ( how was he remapping to make boost you ask) All this after PAT turned up 2.3 hrs late without so much as a sorry for being late just it was a late night. i was charged twice as when the solenoid was put on my car made over 20psi....so i paid £800 because if not i wasnt going to get my car released due to the contract... Also one of my mates is a fan boy of clinic, i bought my coilovers off him yesterday and Clinic also set them up at different sizes all the way around, as such he now uses Carnetix. Each to their own with Tuners and Stuff and ill admit i hate clinic after having 5 bad experiences, the customer service is shocking, and due to my age they treat me like !Removed!, when asking if they have a second hand exhaust ( which i had already seen in the back) i was told by adam that they dont have any second hand parts but he would sell me new, ( really there is a shed full) also if anyone says a bad word about them on any other forums especially UKSCOOBIES which they run your post will be deleted. So tell me again why you would use them??? anyways im ranting peace.
