  1. wouldn't want these tires for a daily driver... low MPG / noisy and not really good grip on tarmac... and indeed the 2.5 n/a does have a bit more torque (had one back in Australia)
  2. it's the so called secondary air system active with a cold start. if you have a reprogrammable ECU best to cancel it out and close off the two secondary valves too as they will get broken too as they all do... good old Google is you man to find loads of info about this wonderful system
  3. i have done that with my 1988 Renault 25 Turbo-D back n the time. i sourced all the original kit from a breaker and with some smoke and solder i had original cruise control B) here's the thing; you will need an electric schema to know where to hack and what to get...
  4. did a 390 Miles round trip Redhill / Clevedon / Redhill (via Haywards Heath) on 46 Litre V-Power :)
  5. yep, yep; the only thing i had to hack was the connection to the Kenwood AMP but there are connectors available but i was too lazy to get one ;) i just cut it off and if needed can solder it back on 8)
  6. the ONLY thing i did was replacement of the head unit (Pioneer AVIC) and a 350 Watt amp (Kenwood) in bridge mode for the existing subwoofer.
  7. replaced the passenger side front parking light bulb (5 min work) B)
  8. yep, yep, i bumped on the back of a Peugeot who stalled her engine while driving off resulting in dropping dead in front of me. Scooby only a slight scratch on the bumper but the Peugeot had more damage... And the woman driver claiming whiplash! Impact was about between 5 and 10 Mph.
  9. mine is now at 184250 Miles and still going strong B)
  10. check if you find a speaker around the steering column and there might be a switch also around that area. do you also find a small (Nokia) mic on the A pillar? altho that might be not there as the caller couldn't hear you. my Forester had Traffic Master installed with indeed a 2" monochrome screen, sold it all on eBay
  11. £900 as this is what i get as PX on a Zoe
  12. mine is for sale; XC 2.0 n/a, MY2006, automatic, blue, 198,900 miles (only)
  13. now driving a couple weeks with the Nexen tires and have to say they are very good. low noise and better MPG. also i had to get used to how low the rolling resistance is when releasing the accelerator
  14. lose wire / contact / connector / relay
  15. it's the ECU what controls this... may be some computer hacking
  16. make sure you get an insight of the bills to check his story as car sales man talk very sweet and are not home the moment you hand over your hard earned cash and getting the keys. good luck
  17. a sticky relay might be the issue find the right relay, switch on the climate control, if not working knock on the relay to see if it clicks in. if helper as to switch it on / off so you can check (click sound) if the relay works
  18. yep, you do... it's in the back of your Forester ;) anyway good luck and hope it isn't too bad
  19. till you got a cop tailgated with camera too
  20. the Forester i have comes standard with the 900 Geolandar tires and i personally don't like them at all. i was also bit bit sceptical to change as Subaru use these as standard on the Forester but i'm glad i'v changed them. for me comfort is more important then wear as if i wanted to be economical i should never drive a petrol Subaru in the first place but buy some electric vehicle...
  21. the rear looks low to me so check the rear shocks as well i still have a :) on my face after all those years of driving a Forester have fun
  22. not sure about that one... i find the Geolandars crap tires. hard plastic noisy tires, sure lots of miles but not comfortable. i can't believe how much quieter my car is now.
  23. towed a 47 year old Sunbeam with a blocked starter solenoid. sorry forgot to take pictures :(
  24. bought 4 new Nexen Nfera SU4 tires last week for £205 fitted and i like them. they are very quiet and the first day i had them i needed to go to a friend and was shocked as i did 90 Mph without knowing it due lack of road noise need to keep an eye on the speedo and use the cruise (never had a speed ticket in the UK and like to keep it that way)
  25. just to let you know bought the pu40 and all done :) thx
