Buttertubs Pass Run
Gutted to find I missed the recent Whitby run (although I would have had to come in the RS as I've no longer got my Subaru) Might toddle along to this, as I live right on the doorstep of the Buttertubs.

New 2015 Sti leaking from rear-diff.....
Contact them before your 1st service as there is a known fix for this common problem. That way your dealer can order the parts ready for you when you go in, rather than you having to take your car back again. I just used to wedge a cardboard parking disc into the gap round then petrol filler cap, THEN pull the release lever. This will open the cap ok. Try it.

2015 sti tracker
Gambit - I got insured on my 2015 for £220 fully comp protected! That was with 9 years ncb.It cost me over £100 to swap back into my RS! Message to the op.....you don't HAVE to renew the tracker after the year is up. It's up to you. When I got insured for £220 I never even mentioned I had a tracker.

New 2015 Sti leaking from rear-diff.....
Well, I'm going to get flamed for this........ But I'm getting my (old) RS back on Saturday. It's been an expensive 6 month test drive of the Sti, but come Saturday I'll have the RS back home with a cheque to put some money back into my poor bank account. Luckily, my RS was not sold (probably because the dealer tried to get too much money for it) but now I've seized the chance and done a deal to get her back. Can't wait. Sorry guys.

New 2015 Sti leaking from rear-diff.....
Cheers buddy. Sorry to say, baring in mind I'm on a Subaru forum and trying not to cause offence............wish I'd kept my money in the bank and hung onto my Focus RS. I'm slowly trying to get to grips with this sti. I prefer moving the power slightly to the front with a push of the + button. Seems to feel safer in the wet weather to me like this. Still doesn't feel as composed as the RS. The torque is nowhere on the Subaru. I have to leave her in 4th or 5th to keep momentum going, but I feel like I'm wringing the car to get any sense of speed. Whereas in the RS the power was there even in 6th at 50/60 mph.

New 2015 Sti leaking from rear-diff.....
I'm going to phone Slacks in the morning and ask some questions. I'm 30 miles from them, and won't be happy if I have to keep going back and forth. Thanks for the info buddy.

New 2015 Sti leaking from rear-diff.....
Have you got a link to that US site where this is being talked about please buddy? And yes - I'm really disappointed on the build quality of the sti. Passenger door vibration is also getting looked at for the 2nd time on the 31st as well. I'm hoping the fuel filler problem can be fixed without needing to take it back in again after the 31st.

New 2015 Sti leaking from rear-diff.....
FFS. My petrol cap cover won't open now. It's not springing open. Could have been a major problem as I was on the fuel warning light nowhere near home. I had to get someone in the petrol station to pull the release lever in the driver footwell, while I carefully used the thin cardboard parking clock/disc to prise it open carefully without scratching any paintwork. Another job to be done on the 31st.

I'm taking mine into Derek Slacks on the 31st to get the leak sorted. Some seal has been ordered for it.

New 2015 Subaru Wrx Sti - getting in May/June!
Power delivery? Mate - the Subaru is night and day in terms of raw on-tap power to the RS. I owned 4 RS's over the last 5 years, from standard, to mp350, to mr375. My last RS was mp350 (I thought that level of tune is the best compromise) and I'm really missing the instant kick of power from that car. It was there in every gear, but having also had one, you will know that. My old RS still hasn't sold, it's sat at Perkins Garage in Essex. I tried to do a deal to get my car back, but it was going to be financial suicide. God knows what this Sti will be worth in a few years time. Think we'll get a shock.

New 2015 Subaru Wrx Sti - getting in May/June!
Yep - my passenger door has been rattling since new. When I took my car to the dealer last week due to the leaking rear-diff they had a look for me (took the panel off and wrapped a few wires in foam) which has made it better. I'll be honest - i'm really quite let-down by the build-quality of this car.

Then that's why your Sti feels really quick. Lol.

What were you driving before your Sti buddy?

New 2015 Sti leaking from rear-diff.....
From what you describe your looking at the waxy protection that's painted on the diff. You would defo know if you had a leak as it WOULD be leaving oil marks on your drive buddy.

New 2015 Sti leaking from rear-diff.....
Update: phoned Derek Slacks this morning, emailed my pic of the diff and they said bring it down ASAP. Got there this afternoon, and after an hour or so they have ordered some new seal. The leak is small, there is no risk to the diff being damaged. They will contact me when it's come in and they said they will keep my car a few hours. On a bonus note...the godawful vibration in the passenger door from new is now gone. I mentioned it when I arrived and they have whipped the door card off and sorted the noise out. Result. Well done Slacks.

New 2015 Sti leaking from rear-diff.....
I can't. I live in North Yorkshire, but bought the car from Perkins Ford/Subaru in Essex. I tell you, it's the best sale they ever made as I can't take it back there for anything as it's nearly 5 hours away from me.

New 2015 Sti leaking from rear-diff.....
Yeah buddy, I've not gone near it. Subaru can sort it out. Just don't like taking my pride and joy to a dealer and leaving it - had too many bad experiences.

New 2015 Sti leaking from rear-diff.....
Chuffing heck. Derek Slacks is my closest dealer and is 30 miles away. Not happy. Does anyone know if the unit can be topped-up? Or will there be enough oil in there still? Don't think it's been leaking long/much?

New 2015 Sti leaking from rear-diff.....
Hi guys, Why would this silver/grey diff unit be leaking on a new car? Is it something to do with the AWD system yes? Big problem? I'm going to call Derek Slacks in the morning.....
