  1. I'm taking mine into Derek Slacks on the 31st to get the leak sorted. Some seal has been ordered for it.
  2. lol. Here is the latest thread update/link on the leaky rear-diffs....... http://www.iwsti.com/forums/2015-sti-discussion/271050-take-time-check-your-rear-diff.html
  3. What? There are a fair few failures of the new Sti in the states?
  4. wow - did this just happen? A deer got belted and lost it's head?!?
  5. Power delivery? Mate - the Subaru is night and day in terms of raw on-tap power to the RS. I owned 4 RS's over the last 5 years, from standard, to mp350, to mr375. My last RS was mp350 (I thought that level of tune is the best compromise) and I'm really missing the instant kick of power from that car. It was there in every gear, but having also had one, you will know that. My old RS still hasn't sold, it's sat at Perkins Garage in Essex. I tried to do a deal to get my car back, but it was going to be financial suicide. God knows what this Sti will be worth in a few years time. Think we'll get a shock.
  6. Yep - my passenger door has been rattling since new. When I took my car to the dealer last week due to the leaking rear-diff they had a look for me (took the panel off and wrapped a few wires in foam) which has made it better. I'll be honest - i'm really quite let-down by the build-quality of this car.
  7. Then that's why your Sti feels really quick. Lol.
  8. What were you driving before your Sti buddy?
  9. From what you describe your looking at the waxy protection that's painted on the diff. You would defo know if you had a leak as it WOULD be leaving oil marks on your drive buddy.
  10. Update: phoned Derek Slacks this morning, emailed my pic of the diff and they said bring it down ASAP. Got there this afternoon, and after an hour or so they have ordered some new seal. The leak is small, there is no risk to the diff being damaged. They will contact me when it's come in and they said they will keep my car a few hours. On a bonus note...the godawful vibration in the passenger door from new is now gone. I mentioned it when I arrived and they have whipped the door card off and sorted the noise out. Result. Well done Slacks.
  11. I can't. I live in North Yorkshire, but bought the car from Perkins Ford/Subaru in Essex. I tell you, it's the best sale they ever made as I can't take it back there for anything as it's nearly 5 hours away from me.
  12. Yeah buddy, I've not gone near it. Subaru can sort it out. Just don't like taking my pride and joy to a dealer and leaving it - had too many bad experiences.
  13. Just found this recent thread......seems there might be a problem http://www.iwsti.com/forums/2015-sti-discussion/271050-take-time-check-your-rear-diff.html
  14. Chuffing heck. Derek Slacks is my closest dealer and is 30 miles away. Not happy. Does anyone know if the unit can be topped-up? Or will there be enough oil in there still? Don't think it's been leaking long/much?
  15. Hi guys, Why would this silver/grey diff unit be leaking on a new car? Is it something to do with the AWD system yes? Big problem? I'm going to call Derek Slacks in the morning.....
  16. Not sure if this question was addressed to me? But if so, then yes I ran the car in from new.
  17. Mine was mp350.......... Don't listen to me. My last RS was my 4th believe it or not. I kept selling after a year or so, but ended up missing having an RS too much, so I kept getting another. You will love the Sti, but it's just not an RS. But it's nice having such a rare car, and I'm loving the 4 doors and cruise control. Just want a bit more "umph".
  18. Just been for a run-out to Whitby today. Got loads of admiring looks, even a few people wandering across for a natter up in the Abbey car-park. But I'll be honest. I'm struggling with this car. It just hasn't got anywhere near the grunt/performance of the Focus RS I traded in for it. I feel like I have to wring the neck of the Subaru to get it going, and even then it just doesn't feel like it's doing what it says on the tin. The actual on the road performance just doesn't match the paper figures to me.
  19. I'm confused. I thought the quick-shift was standard?
  20. Nice one buddy. What are the exhaust trim and cills? Any pics/photo?
  21. I ended up deciding to NOT come off the field where everyone else was, as there was quite a drop and thought I might end up grounding the Subaru. So I spun round and zipped off back up the field and went out the way I came in. No probs at all.
  22. lol. Nope. No-one was bothered at all. The weather was terrible! It didn't stop raining all the time we were there, and at times was really heavy. Eventually found the VIP tent (no signs on it or anything) and had a sit-down and a coffee or two. Almost got caught-out coming back over the A66 by a speed camera van. That would have made my day. Quite a good show actually, much better than the Yorkshire show that's held just outside of Northallerton every year.
  23. Well, we are setting off now. It's already rained overnight. Bums.
  24. Was there much there then? Is it defo worth the trip? What was the parking like? Safe and plenty of room between cars?
