  1. That code can have many causes - cat needing replacement is just one. Bad fuel, air leaks, bad earths, MAF/MAP, bad sensors etc. I would not change cat/s based solely on this evidence (P0420).
  2. Why do you think the cat needs replacing?
  3. Is it the sensor which is faulty or has the bracket which holds it rusted away such that the sensor cannot "feel" where it is supposed to be to read accurately?
  4. Thanks @SOC Admin
  5. Are Borg & Beck wheel bearings to be trusted/any good? Considering for my car's rear wheels. Thanks.
  6. Update - I have narrowed the issue down to the bonnet alarm switches. The one under the cowl showed very erratic conductivity when tested with multimeter. Compared to the other one - mounted near the o/s strut tower which showed good conductivity - I swapped them over. The car alarm system seems to be behaving itself, despite the dodgy one still being in the circuit. I now need to source a suitable replacement. Any thoughts based on the picture?
  7. Noted. I can't comment on your suggestions as don't know the specs. Maybe other contributors will suggest something.
  8. Try inputting your VIN here. https://partsouq.com/en/catalog/genuine/locate?c=Subaru should open a site showing your car.
  9. Thanks. I forgot to disconnect the battery before swapping the wiper motors but did a disconnect after, and again when I found the problem but still no cure as yet. Any idea which fuse is used for powering the Sigma alarm system, as the provided fuse panel layouts dont have this system listed? As far as checking the work I did, nothing to report. Simple unplug one wiper motor, plug in the other one. No other electrical work done at all so nil for me to re-check.
  10. I recently changed the windscreen wiper motor/linkages for similar one bought via eBay. The new (used) one works fine; however since then the alarm system is playing games with me. In short - locking the car via remote locks all doors and 4 flashes on the hazards. 10 seconds later, all hazards start flashing and stay flashing. Single button push (on key) makes the flashes stop but the car remains locked. Second push on the key button then unlocks the car ready to start. If the car is locked using the remote, it seems to me the alarm is not activating/working as opening the car using the key should trigger the alarm siren. Similarly a long push on the remote's button should, so the manual says set off the siren in panic mode - it does not. Before the wiper motor change the car behaved itself. A single remote push would lock the car and set the alarm. Only the locking function now works. I've taken the siren horn out to maybe see if it's battery is OK. Previous car had openable siren horn and a replaceable 9v battery. This horn has no obvious way of getting to the innards. I'm stumped. Anyone with ideas? Has this syndrome happened to you before and if what did it take to resolve? Lastly, since the condition has only arisen after I changed the wiper motor/linkage could it be that somehow (??) the car has decided it doesn't want the replacement unit? Unlikely I know but grabbing at straws. Appreciate your help.
  11. My OB has issues with a transmission sensor - specifically P1706 which I want to examine. The sensor is mounted high on the tail section of the tranny and only visible (just) from underneath. I'd like to get the car on a lift or over a workshop pit. Does anyone know anywhere in the south east (Kent pref) which rents out facilities such as this by the hour, or who would allow me to borrow? Probably need a couple of hours for my examination, maybe longer period if I proceed with repairs once parts have been got. Thanks all.
  12. Anyone tried one of these? https://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-portable-subaru-ashtray.html?spm=a2g0o.home.search.0
  13. Anyone want or need a Momo steering wheel c/w airbag, off my old Outback (year 2004 or so)? Pictures for reference. Free to collect from CT4 Bridge Kent. No cost but I will not package or arrange courier despatch - no exceptions - so you'll have to arrange that for yourself. There's a headrest in grey leather from, I think the same car which I'm happy to part with at the same time.
  14. Try this? https://partsouq.com/en/catalog/genuine/locate?c=Subaru

That has dual zone aircon. Unlikely to work, apart from any other incompatibilities.
  16. I can't comment on a Levorg as haven't been in one but as for the dealer network and support from Subaru towards their product, my experience has been that Subaru in the UK is almost non-existent. Examples impacting me are closures recently of my two nearest dealers (Woodford and Maidstone) so there are none in Kent and only Robertsbridge in Sussex should I need them (rarely, prefer to do my own work where possible). Others experience may vary.
  17. Relays in place doesn't mean they are all OK. Does the fan/s start if the aircon (if equipped) is powered up?
  18. Official subaru dealers should be able to supply the pin provided you can prove ownership - mine did. Costs may apply.
  19. Do you have a keypad inside the little flap by drivers' right knee which gives access to the interior fuse box? If so it's likely an OEM (Thatcham?) fitting. If so do you know the 4 or 5 digit PIN and if so does inputting the code make any difference?
  20. Sure that printed section isn't the aerial? Side window, rear?
  21. What sensor fault code?
  22. If you pull the tab it may come out further?
  23. It mat be cheaper/easier/quicker to swop in another engine if you can find one. Costing when the actual damage is yet unknown is unlikely to be successful.
