OK Stants thanks. I've been looking at parts on the web. Looks a bit of a mine field. So many different makes. I usually stick to genuine but are any of these upgraded gaskets actually better than the standard? Also I see there are different thicknesses available. How do I know whether I need a 0.6, 1.3 or 1.6mm? Cheers.

So it appears a head gasket has gone on my 2003 WRX. I've refilled the expansion tank 3 times in about 3 weeks. Checked under the car thoroughly for leaks this evening but nothing found . I plan to do the repair myself and as quickly as possible. My questions to you clever people are:- Is there a way to tell which head gasket is leaking? And apart from a gasket set, is there anything else I need to buy is advance? I'm not sure about head bolts! Thanks in advance Linx

My car alarm went off at 01:30 this morning. I had to go out in my boxers and disconnect the battery . This is the second time this has happened when the car hasn't been used for five days and the battery has lost charge. My question is - Is it worth buying a new battery or will the alarm still flatten it anyway? Thanks and all the best Linx.

Getting back to the gearbox issues ;) . Mine too is usually difficult to get into reverse and occasionally 1st too. I've changed the gearbox oil for Castrol fully synth and the clutch fluid. Any idears? The gearbox oil is a bit over the top line on the stick. Would that do it? Thanks in advance Linx.

Hi Moss, I bought my Scuby from Quay Cars, a used Subaru specialist near Newport. http://www.quayvehiclesolutions.com/ Although they didn't do it themselves (just sales) they'd had new belts put on mine by a local garage they recommend. Sorry I don't who that is but if you give Quay a ring, I'm sure they'll be able to fill you in. Linx.

I bought some genuine Subaru front calliper bolts through eBay £6 per pair.

I bought my Blob Eye standard and put a Prodrive back box on it. It is louder than the standard one but really not instusive. Anyway my standard pipe is for sale for £25 if you are interested.
