Emissions fitter/tester for Jaguar Land Rover within Powertrain development.
I'm mostly on a lab with a 4wd rolling road and the ability to test both diesel and petrol.
-
We dont get to use it for personal use unfortunately, all the power testing is done on engine dynos :)
Heya Gambit, yeah I joined up on the FB group and it reminded me lol. I dont really use the scooby or other car forums much anymore.
Tempted to try that meet in aber but its a long albeit fun drive lol.
Any more local stuff for the midlands going on?

I've a new age WRX and I'm using a Cosworth panel filter. Japspeed sell these quite cheap, give them a ring they are pretty helpful and will let you know if they have one in for your car.
http://www.japspeed.co.uk/Subaru-Impreza-GC8/Air-Induction/c-1-23-70/
The standard air box system is more than enough for your car and changing to an induction kit will likely lose you power if anything!
Noticed your in Banbury, I'm about 10mins from Banbury towards Gaydon.. got a silver blob eye with a black spoiler and bonnet vent :D

I have BC racing coilovers on my WRX, I've had them before on another car as well. Very good product and well worth the money. Teins are over priced and not all that brilliant quality, they are only so expensive due to each Tein seller making profit from each other and bumping the prices up.
Make sure the coilovers are set up correctly by somewhere that knows what they are doing. Especially if it comes with camber adjustment on the top.
Mine feel great on the road, the car is stiffer but the dampeners work very well taking all the harshness out.... again this is due to me getting it set up by someone who knows what they are doing (Thwaites Development/TD Racing in Warwick).

Very nice, great colour!
Cheers, its Bayside blue which is a R34 colour and so theres very few R33's in this colour.
Lol 1 the mrs may realise I've been at the chippy a long time plus thats what the house is for ;)

They'll get changed at some point... just trying to work out the priorities with it. Not a fan of window tinting personally :)
But yeah the Sti spoiler is a must I think, along with the Sti bonnet scoop. I have plenty of ideas... check out my last jap motor lol
-
Yeah the previous owner had them put in at Prodrive which was a selling point to me.
Not sure yet, I'm tempted to change the alloys to allow for bigger brakes but then I might just increase the power first.

Certainly Audi and VW drivers have become the twats of the road. Skoda's have not joined in with their behaviour yet I must admit.
From owning a 330ci beemer for 6 months I can say that I became a twatty driver at times simply because I was forced too! People just will NOT let you out at junctions, give you space or be nice towards you on the road.... just because its a beemer?!?!
Drove me mad as I often let people out and be courteous on the road too!

I've been before a couple of times, had the Skyline at a few of these modified car shows. Trax is one of the better shows to be fair, fast show at santa pod sucks because getting out is ridiculous and generally unorganised. Modified nationals is more a booze weekend to be fair...

Nice, liking the artwork on the air intake :D

Hey Hey,
Couple of pics...
I've fitted my own head unit as it has Ipod control built in which is far better than cd/cassette playback lol
Cat back Ninja 2 exhaust system.... and thats about it so far I do believe!

Yeah I liked driving it the other day, hopefully it will give me a reason to forget how good it was driving my old R33. Sold that and regretted it for ages.

Hello everyone, I will be picking up my 53 plate Impreza WRX come Saturday.
I've driven a number of imprezas and other subaru's before over at prodrive but never owned one yet.
I'm a fitter/tester for Jaguar Land Rover working in powertrain development and we operate a number of dynamometers both 2wd and 4wd.
I'll get up a couple of photos of the motor once picked it up and washed it!
Basically its the facelift WRX in silver, also has Sti front seats which is nice

1 its china :) and 2 look how quiet the roads are. We'd never get a road that quiet here or a road decent enough to do them speeds!
