  1. The brochure I was given (printed 2014) for the old one, listed Satin White, Ice Silver Metallic, Venetian Red Pearl, Quartz Blue Pearl and Dark Grey Metallic (which looks almost black in the brochure).

  2. I have my doubts about all this sacking business. The BBC wants to cancel Top Gear, but can't just say "enough", so need a reason. Clarkson and crew set up the fisticuffs, and Clarkson is sacked. Top Gear is cancelled - job done. Clarkson, however, is not actually sacked from the BBC, as he will be chairing Have I Got News For You in a couple of weeks. When I was working, if I got the sack, I would not reappear a few weeks later in another section of the same employer.

  3. What do you need it for? Might be worth letting local Subaru dealers know what your want, in case they might get in a beaten up trade in, which might suit you better. Saves all the hassle of importing, and you get to see the car before committing yourself.

  4. Not sure of cost, but they seem able to repair almost any dent, without the need for paint, and pretty quickly too, so should not cost too much. I always park at the far end of supermarket car parks these days, after one car was hit by a high speed trolley, and a door dented. Well less than £100 to sort out, plus a small touch up of a scratch. Amazing what they can do with a few tools!

  5. As i said in an earlier post, some of the changes are anything but hidden, and at a cost of £900+ price increase. Just glad I did not go for the one in stock, as I would have been annoyed to have missed out on the extra goodies.

  6. A bit of a downside, but depends how much stuff goes in the boot - with me it will probably be just the dog! If I do need to put any luggage in, the flexible load cover should cope with the missing height - which is more than the same height rigid cover in the Kia does. Failing that, it's the girlfriend's Hyundai i40 estate!

  7. Don't think I would put my money down not knowinf exactly what it going look like ....

Money already down (£500 deposit), and dealer says I can back out if I don't like it, as it is not what I ordered. Personally not bothered, as it won't be that different to current model. Might be different if they presented me with a Sportage lookalike!

  8. I think it is just a facelift, rather than a new model. Standard on the Premium model is 7 inch sat nav screen, DAB radio, sunroof and keyless entry with start/stop button. Dealer could not tell me anything else at the moment.

  9. Not seen any pics yet, but seems to be more of a facelift than a new model. Just the extras listed above, that I have been told about. Dealer still has a few of the "current" model, which I suppose will be sold off asap, and I would have got one of those, if I had not wanted the spare wheel and the Venetian Red.

  10. Snake pass and Cat and Fiddle pass in the Derbyshire Peaks can be "interesting", especially if the bikers are about! Lot of the main roads in the High Peak are 50 limit, but still great scenery, with twists and turns and some steep hills. Just don't go during school holidays, as the roads are full of tourists and their caravans. Must add I have nothing against caravans, but they do get in the way of a good run out.

  11. Will wait until the car is here, then have a think about it. Dealer happy to obtain and fit any time. Will have to see if they will fit a personal import one, or will have a word with my mate who has a high end body shop. Hope it won't screw my bodywork/paint warranty, if I don't use the dealer to do it.

  12. Need to interrogate the fitter, and ensure he has the paperwork to identify the right screen. Check that all moulded in cables are present and any connectors on the screen edge are also present. Worst case is to have basic screen fitted, under protest, so at least you have a useable car, then badger screen firm/insurance company until you get the right one.

  13. Having ordered a new XV, for delivery in May, I was a bit annoyed to read about a new XV coming out this year. This morning, I got a phone call from the dealer, and seems Subaru are making no more of the 2014 model, and are now making the 2015 model, which I will have to have! Will cost me an extra £900, but does now include 7 inch sat nav, DAB radio, sunroof and keyless entry. I'm not complaining!

  14. Make sure it is the right screen for your car. Some recent posts on the Kia forum, where the windscreen companies are fitting standard screens, that do not have the inbuilt sensors required on higher spec cars. This has even happened at a dealer, where they got the windscreen firm in to fit it. Don't let them near your car, until you have checked they have the right screen.

  15. Used to have a Lada Niva called Ada - the L had fallen off the name badge (amongst many other things). Current car is called Arsene, because it's a Kia Venga (I'm not an Arsenal fan, by the way - I think they are all called that!). The XV has already been called Vixen - by a 6 year old, so I will let that stand!
