  1. It's a 2 port solenoid but I'm assuming your on about the clear/browny coloured pipe, that's my gauge pipe coming from the gauge waiting to be plugged in, I'm wondering if I may be right like martyc said because I didn't go for a drive, just assumed it should be near 0 when idle
  2. Attempting to fit my boost gauge and I can't for the life of me find the right place on the manifold to get it working, all the places I've connected it just cause the gauge to go down into in. Hg instead of up into psi, it drops down as soon as stated and then goes up to 0 when revved so I assume the gauge is alright, I can't find any info online with the same engine as mine (pencil coils on plugs not single coil and leads) I've hopefully uploaded a picture showing where I've joined it, if anyone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated
  3. Spot on I'll do that later, I think the local scrappy has one of these in so gonna go and nick the boost solenoid just to try
  4. I've had another look this morning at my plugs and can only find one black plug that's near the 2 green ones, anyone know if I'm just missing the other end or will it be for something unrelated?
  5. Yer fan came on, didn't know what the other plugs did so didn't want to connect them
  6. It's a 2 port solenoid, there's 2 green plugs under the dash and 2 black plugs, I think it was the green ones I joined, it made a load of things click and work etc under the bonnet, and primarily just running it on standard shell, I did run a good few tanks of v power trough it but that didn't make any difference
  7. Yep done that as well haha, it's definitely a wierd one, just trying to make sure I've covered everything before getting robbed by subaru
  8. Yer I've tried cleaning those, I've connected my connectors under the dash and my boost solenoid didn't 'click' and when I sprayed some brake cleaner into one end it didn't come through the other, so I'm thinking it's not working but then it goes better than I'd expect if it wasn't working, anyone know any other ways of testing it? Don't have a spare one to try unfortunately
  9. Forester turbo 2001 ej205 engine, needing some help with a misfire type thing, doesn't happen when giving it a proper thrash all through the gears but say country roads and a spirited but sensible driving style it misses, at least it feels like a missfire, I tried moving the knock sensor back onto the bell housing and it seemed better for a month or so but it's back again, so thinking it's something along them lines, what causes the knock sensor to pick up a fault? Had new plugs, air and fuel filter, can't find any leaks anywhere, no engine light or codes, just been on holiday with it and done 1000 miles this last week and it's not got any worse or had any other problems, can't even notice it when driving normally but putting it under loads sometimes seems to make it miss, sorry for the length and vagueness but hopefully someone will have an idea. P. S. What happens if boost solenoid isn't working?
  10. Link isn't working I'm afraid Sent from my SM-G901F using Tapatalk
  11. It's an sf turbo and I'm replacing them because one springs just snapped, hopefully the struts will be alright when I get it stripped down Sent from my SM-G901F using Tapatalk
  12. How do I tell if my forester has self leveling suspension? I need a pair of rear springs and the parts guy says it is but I can't see anything sls related? Also would it matter putting sls springs on if I did them as a pair? (fronts recently done) only asking because there cheaper lol
  13. Perfect, cheers for the help :-)
  14. Ah right, cheers :-) will be getting rid of both of them then, it looks standard under there
  15. Err... As far as I was aware there's just the one cat :-/ I'll have to get underneath and have a proper look, any idea what bore the standard exhaust is? Seen a couple either 2.5 or 3 inch, is 2. 5 standard or not?
  16. That'll do me :-) so pretty much any decat from that era will fit?
  17. Any way of getting more turbo spool noise without a cone filter then?
  18. Ah cheers, the 4 pots where nearer the bottom of the list anyway and wheels aren't the best looking things so that'll do for the future, I'm torn between a panel and cone filter, I prefer the panel being inclosed Incase I find some deep water one day, but the cone will give me better sound won't it? Had plenty of cone filters on previous cars and they sounded good enough, never heard one on a decent car yet hough yet :-)
  19. Quite often but it's just gentle off roading, mostly dodgy farm lanes, I need to keep it balanced so it can do it all really, my plans are an exhaust system and air filter of some kind to make it sound a bit better and some all rounded tyres, and maybe some 4 pots when I come across some, very confusing knowing what parts fit off what models haha
  20. That's alright was thinking just a decat for now till I can find more funds, quite a challenge deciding weather to go down the road of better off road or better on road
  21. Would a decat pipe for a classic wrx/sti etc fit?
  22. Cheers for that I forgot about them, and I've used them through work as well :-/
  23. I'm looking into exhausts at the moment, second hand, can't afford new lol, so if i look for one for a classic impreza turbo from the same year it'll be the same? is it called a classic or is there a technical term for them?
  24. I'm under the impression that the forester shares a few bits from equivalent impress's, but what do they share and which model would mine be the same as? its a 2001 forester s turbo.
