Oil confusion....
Fully Synthetic I imagine? (Haven't got my manual to hand)

Hi :-) New forester owner with questions.
The triangle at the front of the door, from the top point and then all the way down the trailing edge, l got a couple of strips of wood to protect the finish and then compressed the inside and outside together with mole grips. Over time - particularly if you shut the door by pushing the window - the inside and outside pieces become pushed apart. Doing this provided the biggest improvement in wind noise reduction.

2005 X d2.0 drivers window
Great. Can I use Impreza window motor (2002 - 2008)?

2005 X d2.0 drivers window
Did you replace just the motor or the mech as well? Someone said get both together, but I can't see why one wouldn't just replace the motor

forester drivers window
If it's completely stopped working, I read somewhere - and it worked for me - just give the door card a good firm whack (from memory just below the arm rest with the switches but you'd need to check) and it can free everything up.

Hi :-) New forester owner with questions.
Very late response, there weren't any of these outputs. Regarding wind noise, I took some mole grips to the triangle by the wing mirrors and pressed them back together, this massively reduced wind noise.

Privacy tint fitting, Henley/Marlow/High Wycombe ara
Hi, I bought a precursor my window tint kit and I'm chicken out of fitting it now. Does anyone know a person/place on the Henley/Reading/Marlow area I could take the car to have the kit fitted? thanks in advance

Putting a double din HU in Satnav slot my2004 Forester 2.5XT
Hi, I replaced the standard head unit with a double DIN Alpine CDEW235BT unit that has Parrot bt hands free and iPod/Phone usb slot built in. I also bought the separate looms that allow you to hook it up to the steering wheel controls. It works really well. I couldn't be bothered hacking around in the sat-nav area. I just mount my Garmin on it by suction cupping onto the screen lol.

Hi :-) New forester owner with questions.
I'll have a look at the back of the old head unit from my 2005 2.5XT. From memory, there are no such outputs or I probably would have bought a GROM Bluetooth module. Also the sound was appalling from the standard head unit from memory. I bought an Alpine CDEW235BT which was less than £100 at the time and comes with a USB slot on the front and a PAROT hands free Bluetooth built in and bluetooth audio streaming. It fits straight into the existing slot with no hacking.

Leak in roof
I think I may have got lucky. The left hand boot for the wiring into the deck lid had come loose. Hopefully this is the source

Wind noise
Mole grips worked for me. But I do now need to do the B pillar

Leak in roof
Ah yes. So, pull it down from B to D? I wonder if some one-shot drain unblocker would clear it.

Leak in roof
After the heavy rain I saw a puddle of water on the boot floor protector on the left side close to the boot subwoofer location (as you look into the boot). Feeling around, it's damp on the headlining in the left corner directly above (where the plastic trim meets the material lining. I'm assuming the water is coming through where the roof rails are screwed in. It's only happening on one side, that may be because I generally park on the left hand side of the road though. Anybody had this or know a quick fix?

Part# for the window rubber/boot by the mirror and tweeter. SG 2005 XT
I had a 3hr motorway drive on my hands today so I thought I'd try the mole grips approach. It's worked a treat! No more wind noise. Although I now can hear a little wind noise coming from the back of the front windows

Interior lights, SG 2005.
Ye factory alarm. They work fine if you manually turn them on, just not off the alarm or doors. Only the rear interior light works off the alarm/doors. There only seems to be off/on position on the two front interior lights.

Interior lights, SG 2005.
Hi Stants yeah I have all of that, but they don't come on with the door opening/alarm

I have a sunroof heheh. It's directly above the rear seat

Part# for the window rubber/boot by the mirror and tweeter. SG 2005 XT
Hi I'm looking to replace the triangular rubber boot at the bottom leading edge of the front windows. The one that the tweeter and wing mirror attach to. Basically they're split at the very top and are also making a lot of wind noise. So rather than do a 'fix' I think I'd rather replace. Does anyone know - other than main dealer - where I can order these? Or should I just get them from the Stealer? Thanks in advance

Interior lights, SG 2005.
Quick question: on my 2005 2.5XT the only interior light that works when unlocking/opening doors etc. is the one above the rear seat. Is this right? It's very dark in the front. I would have thought the two front ones would be activated off the alarm/doors too?
