  1. No idea I'm afraid :( welcome :)
  2. Welcome aboard Same as my first scoob, luvs a wagon me !
  3. Yes mate just unbolts, the rad and fans are bracketed onto the very front integral chassis crossmember, the anti roll bar should be bolted to the big black removable crossmember that holds the engine and that houses the steering rack and has the bottom control arms bolted to it, that's the sort of thing (pink thing) I was on about, but if you look long and hard there are all manor of extra bits/bigger ones if I remember
  4. I had a little freak out when my car was doing the fan thing until I found out the ac was on
  5. Hello mate, I had a 2003 blob wrx wagon and mine was really scabby too, I read up on it a lot and found lots of conflicting views saying it makes no difference to the drive, it makes it worse, it makes it better, so I took mine off and drove around for a couple of days without it and I didn't like it at all, in my personal opinion ( as others have stated that theirs felt better) it made the front feel a bit vague and very mildly floppy and lost a bit of road holding if that makes any sense, now it may just be the fact that I knew it was off and it played on my mind, but I don't think that was it, it's quite a big chunk of metal to lose and maybe beneficial in the case of an accident (God forbid) but I for one would rather it be there and I'm also a stickler for the plastic undertray to keep all the crap off my engine, upshot was I went straight down my local scrapyard and got another c frame and sprayed it internally and externally with wax oil, I think you can also buy aluminium tube crisscross type braces to replace it, give it a razz around with it off and see what you think maybe
  6. Can anyone shed any light on this please, reset ecu, took car out for spirited drive and got these figures
  7. Hello mate, are you anywhere near Chichester, have you any idea how to set up romraider :-/

Got it running at last  :) gonna post up a pic and hopefully someone can shed some light on it, gonna be a while afore I think about tuning that's for sure....

Whoop whoop, well done mate, I've done a few tweaks like full decat system upgraded airfilter, got a new upgraded fuel pump to stick in too then looking to remap to help the fuel and run a bit sharper as the fuel drains a little quicker than before.....

  8. Afternoon all, thanks for the replies :), well been fiddling/spannering like mad, could take the intercooler off in my sleep now I think, have had the pcv valve off from the back of the manifold and cleaned it, Uncrushed the bpv (standard unit) with a view to getting another, and have fitted a simoto panel filter, and filled up with a new tank of v power, as of the last two days the car is running like a dream, the oil consumption is down, and the knock correction readings are at a constant zero across the board, so hopefully it may be ok, I think mostly it was the bpv as I had crushed it due to loosing some boost psi and then in my wisdom had crushed it again, and it seems the boost was lost due to a combination of bad throttle body and ecu pulling boost ??? Or maybe oil blow by through pcv ?? The mind can truly boggle ! So it's looking good .... But :) I now have the eml on telling me the secondary air system is at fault lol lol, I'm sure it was valve stuck closed, anyway, just had to laugh really, the car is absolutely mint from top to bottom inside and out with every bill, service and stamp etc so it's really worth keeping, I suppose being at 97.5k things are gonna be wearing out also I have been trying to set up romraider on my laptop so I can check the IAM but I am lost as to how to load ecu defs etc, think I'm gonna have to find someone pc savvy to do it
  9. Well I think I'm gonna bore you lot to tears with this bl@@dy car, so I'm gonna suffer in silence and either sort it or sell it, will pop on and inform if I find the problem adios amigos
  10. Ok, replaced throttle body as per my other thread title on my hawk, car was immediately much better, drove it about a bit no knocking and better afr learning/correction etc, reset ecu last night, drove car today for 14 miles to gym then my mates unit so it was parked for 90 mins at gym and got back in it, and it didn't miss a beat, drove up the unit, parked it up for 4 or 5 hours, got in it, drove it for about 5 miles fine ( all the time freessm running) booted it across a roundabout and it started playing up, -2.8% knock correction, rising afr correction and hesitation and feeling switchy on the throttle, drove down 2 miles of dual carriageway giving it a little boost and by the time I pull off I have an afr correction of +25 and -5% knock correction maximum and a constant knock correction of 1.8%. Limped it home as its running awful with hesitation and its ticking over awful, any attempt to raise the revs and it hits -5% knock correction, spray loads of wd40 and map gas around looking for leaks, can't find any anywhere, take bpv off and blow through it to see if it's leaking, seems fine ( it's been crushed as it was leaking before) I think I may have pushed the plunger in can't remember, anyway, put it back on, Start car and reset with freessm, which I assume resets ecu ? And it starts and runs fine, drive down the road like nothing ever happened, give it a boot full and get a little roughness back and a one time -1.5% knock correction and nothing more, afr learning and correction ok again as well, tbh I'm at my wits end with it, any possibility the crushed bpv is acting up. Sticking open a bit maybe.
  11. Have taken that advice mate, just popped the battery off for the night, given the brake pedal a few stomps, will do the uncle scotty (I think that's what he's called) reset in the morn when it's cold and see if it all stays Rosie
  12. Fitted it this afternoon, took it for a run, immediately better, little more roughness on #4 but no knock correction, boost is up a few psi and so is power and driveability, afr learning and correction have changed, still got to work out what's good or bad, and it's probably best to reset the ecu as its learned some orrible stuff, but also maybe not reset it and see what it learns ? Hmmm, anyway upshot is its running massively better already, without a reset or any learning, and my start of boost stumble and any other hesitation also seems to have gone so as long as it carries on this way looks like the throttle body or the electrics on it were on the way out, see what tomorrow brings with a longer drive...... bottom pic is latest
  13. Throttle body has arrived, time to find out if it is that, wish me luck 😬
  14. Ok, I got air fuel correction min -14-7% max 18.8% thats after a 14 mile drive
  15. It's integral mate as its bl@@dy drive by whire... Am seeing 20in.hg vacuum at idle which equates to about -10psi, is this right or is it supposed to be -20psi, Google time I think, altho its always been 20in
  16. I !Removed! hope it does, in theory (and practice actually :) all I did was remove the T body, clean it in my own special way 😜 And put it back on, so I'm just praying its that, can't really see anything jumping out at me yet with freessm other than at idle at least, the throttle duty is jumping around all over the place, finjers crossed....
  17. That sounds well cheap/good price
  18. Ive had the cooler off and cannot find anything untoward pipe wise, it's got swrd silicone boost hoses, and the boost is strong, drove around today with a scan tool unplugging each sensor in turn but nothin changed it, got the freessm hooked up today also, so gonna try and make head or tail of all that, just downloading romraider at the mo, and have another throttle body and map sensor on order, see if that sorts it
  19. More than likely mate, did give it a good brushin tbh, it's absolutely fine at idle and driving as long as you stay out of boost, and it's also fine if you stamp on the pedal, but if you try and bring it up from zero boost progressively as soon as it gets into positive pressure it starts holding back and hesitating, and the afr goes either crazy, or just stays lean, if it stays lean it doesn't hold back, and hesitate, I'm starting to think I really shouldn't try and get into tuning lol, I've got the battery off doing a reset to see if that makes any odds at all, if not, will have to replace it, not really sure what I've damaged, unless there is some sort of barometric pressure sensor in there, or its that thing you said (unsmiley face)
  20. took dbw throttle body off my hawkeye today to clean it, gave it a good beasting with carb cleaner and a tooth brush, then found a little hole that went into the plastic cover so drowned whatever was in there with loads of carb cleaner then bashed compressed air in there at 100psi for ages until no more cleaner came out of the plastic anymore, put it all together and now I got trouble, I've obviously damaged whatever is in there, most likely the tps as it is running really badly lean if I get into larger throttle openings and boost with the afr jumping wildly or just staying at 14.7 through the boost until I mash the pedal, then it will drop straight to 10.4, obviously the throttle flap is opening as per the request from the pedal, but the tps is not reading this so the Ecu is not putting in the appropriate amount of fuel, anyway, thought I best put it on here to stop anyone else messing theirs up by doing the same (is anyone that daft? or is it just me) anyway, I don't hold out much hope of it being any better in the morning so I will be after getting another one, oh joy !
  21. :-/ never even crossed my mind that it could be that side of the turbo ! Good luck mate
  22. You probably need to have a little google of what pipes have boost when your on it and take it from there, I was going to say that it sounds like a little leak as you are still making boost, but maybe it's bigger and the turbo is blowing it's nuts off to try and keep up, once again I'm not too sure what the scoob electronics would do in this event, but you could be having a fuelling issue while on boost because of it so I would defo keep out of boost until it's sorted, there are so many pipes that could be blown off(little Unclipped ones) all around and under the intake manifold, if yours is anything like my 07 wrx, so if it's not a split/loose pipe in or on the major boost pipes coming from turbo to intercooler and then intercooler to throttle body, maybe even a by pass valve issue, maybe a blown gasket where it bolts onto the intercooler, or even a knackered bpv or highly unlikely, a leak in the intercooler itself, it could very well be one of the little pipes that are everywhere, I had a few vacuum leaks on mine and cable tied everything I thought there was to cable tie, then took off the intercooler one time and found a load more, so be vigilant
  23. Hello mate, welcome, I'm new me self, is the car down on power, I assume it is as its reading low on boost, is it definately a whooshing noise and not a noise like a ghost, if it's a whooshing noise only I would presume you have either popped a boost hose off or more likely split one, but tbh my turbo experience is mainly with old cosworths and Renault turbos and they are a lot less involved than these motors so maybe someone else will be along in a mo with more help
  24. Awesome, thanks mate
