Think I have wrecked my throttle body
Ok, I got air fuel correction min -14-7% max 18.8% thats after a 14 mile drive

Think I have wrecked my throttle body
It's integral mate as its bl@@dy drive by whire... Am seeing 20in.hg vacuum at idle which equates to about -10psi, is this right or is it supposed to be -20psi, Google time I think, altho its always been 20in

Think I have wrecked my throttle body
I !Removed! hope it does, in theory (and practice actually :) all I did was remove the T body, clean it in my own special way 😜 And put it back on, so I'm just praying its that, can't really see anything jumping out at me yet with freessm other than at idle at least, the throttle duty is jumping around all over the place, finjers crossed....

map remap
That sounds well cheap/good price

Think I have wrecked my throttle body
Ive had the cooler off and cannot find anything untoward pipe wise, it's got swrd silicone boost hoses, and the boost is strong, drove around today with a scan tool unplugging each sensor in turn but nothin changed it, got the freessm hooked up today also, so gonna try and make head or tail of all that, just downloading romraider at the mo, and have another throttle body and map sensor on order, see if that sorts it

Think I have wrecked my throttle body
More than likely mate, did give it a good brushin tbh, it's absolutely fine at idle and driving as long as you stay out of boost, and it's also fine if you stamp on the pedal, but if you try and bring it up from zero boost progressively as soon as it gets into positive pressure it starts holding back and hesitating, and the afr goes either crazy, or just stays lean, if it stays lean it doesn't hold back, and hesitate, I'm starting to think I really shouldn't try and get into tuning lol, I've got the battery off doing a reset to see if that makes any odds at all, if not, will have to replace it, not really sure what I've damaged, unless there is some sort of barometric pressure sensor in there, or its that thing you said (unsmiley face)

Think I have wrecked my throttle body
took dbw throttle body off my hawkeye today to clean it, gave it a good beasting with carb cleaner and a tooth brush, then found a little hole that went into the plastic cover so drowned whatever was in there with loads of carb cleaner then bashed compressed air in there at 100psi for ages until no more cleaner came out of the plastic anymore, put it all together and now I got trouble, I've obviously damaged whatever is in there, most likely the tps as it is running really badly lean if I get into larger throttle openings and boost with the afr jumping wildly or just staying at 14.7 through the boost until I mash the pedal, then it will drop straight to 10.4, obviously the throttle flap is opening as per the request from the pedal, but the tps is not reading this so the Ecu is not putting in the appropriate amount of fuel, anyway, thought I best put it on here to stop anyone else messing theirs up by doing the same (is anyone that daft? or is it just me) anyway, I don't hold out much hope of it being any better in the morning so I will be after getting another one, oh joy !

Hello Everyone :)
:-/ never even crossed my mind that it could be that side of the turbo ! Good luck mate

Hello Everyone :)
You probably need to have a little google of what pipes have boost when your on it and take it from there, I was going to say that it sounds like a little leak as you are still making boost, but maybe it's bigger and the turbo is blowing it's nuts off to try and keep up, once again I'm not too sure what the scoob electronics would do in this event, but you could be having a fuelling issue while on boost because of it so I would defo keep out of boost until it's sorted, there are so many pipes that could be blown off(little Unclipped ones) all around and under the intake manifold, if yours is anything like my 07 wrx, so if it's not a split/loose pipe in or on the major boost pipes coming from turbo to intercooler and then intercooler to throttle body, maybe even a by pass valve issue, maybe a blown gasket where it bolts onto the intercooler, or even a knackered bpv or highly unlikely, a leak in the intercooler itself, it could very well be one of the little pipes that are everywhere, I had a few vacuum leaks on mine and cable tied everything I thought there was to cable tie, then took off the intercooler one time and found a load more, so be vigilant

Hello Everyone :)
Hello mate, welcome, I'm new me self, is the car down on power, I assume it is as its reading low on boost, is it definately a whooshing noise and not a noise like a ghost, if it's a whooshing noise only I would presume you have either popped a boost hose off or more likely split one, but tbh my turbo experience is mainly with old cosworths and Renault turbos and they are a lot less involved than these motors so maybe someone else will be along in a mo with more help

Logging my wrx
Awesome, thanks mate

Logging my wrx
Thanks for your time mate, yes it's dbw, I Spose it is either the throttle pedal assembly damaged, the actual throttle flap/motor sticking or a moody tune, any ideas what cable exactly I would need ?

Logging my wrx
Ive just connected my car up to a code reader this morning to check the operation of the throttle pedal as it has a live data bit on it, and I found that if I go onto the tps reading and slowly depress the pedal (engine off) all seems fine up until I get to roughly 27 % then any small amount of movement jumps the reading up to either 33% or 36%, I can't get it to read anything inbetween, I am thinking that this is what would make my car Buck , if I'm in that area of travel it will surely be jumping about as I try to hold a steady throttle or am coming on the gas and boost slowly at that point ?

Logging my wrx
I honestly don't know tbh, would it be better if I went the romraider route, so then I could really get/look into everything, and "maybe" down the line do some tuning, I'm pretty good with the mechanical side of things, just got a bit overwhelmed reading up on wgdc's, injector latency, pedal v requested torque or some such things etc, I'm a born fiddler so once I understand it I'm sure I will love it, just not sure what cable I would need, what laptop ? Software etc

Logging my wrx
Hi all, thought I best start another thread for this. Basically I just need to know exactly what I need to log my car 2007 hawkeye wrx, I have no idea even though I have read and read about it all as I'm reading that there's all sorts of different cables etc, I also have absolutely no idea what the logs are going to mean so am hoping someone could read them and tell me if they are good or not, Im hoping it may show why I get bucking in my car (as per my other thread) Many thanks again in advance for any help

2007 hawkeye bucking as boost kicks in
Afternoon all, I have a 2007 wrx wagon that pretty much drives good, randomly I will get a bucking as boost starts to come in, it's pretty savage sometimes, enough to throw you about in the seat, it is random and only happens in 1st and second mostly and the boost gauge will jump up to 10-12 psi and back to zero when doing it, the afr will also jump around but I presume that is to be expected, at any other time the afr is good, a steady 14.7 - 14.8 while of boost, going to 10.4- 10.5 at wot with a good taper from the start of boost, I honestly think it could be a dbw throttle pedal issue as when I bought the car the pedal stop was missing from the floor, unbeknown to me, I found it in the glove compartment when I got the car but had no idea what it was until a few weeks later, have no idea how long it had been off or why, but I had mashed the pedal down a fair few times myself without it on , I then read that not having that stop could damage the pedal sensor/casing and to be honest it looks a bit bowed in places, just wondering if anyone else has heard or had this sort of problem Thanks in advance for any help guys/gals, I'm going to post onother thread about logging the car also

Hello
Hello mate, just joined myself so it's a hello from me, if you could reply to my newbie post, we may just get things rolling

Hello
- Newbie
Mornin all, just a quick hello, got myself a 07 wrx wagon after a deer wrote my 03 wagon off, all is good apart from some bucking as it comes on boost, so I'm hoping I can find a helping hand at some point :) - Newbie
