  1. Yeah an engine swap is easy enough to do. I did mine on the driveway. Borrowed an engine hoist and had it out in a couple of hours. If you do get another engine, change the cam belts and tensioners before you put it in the car. Oh and new spark plugs as well as I reckon it's one of the hardest DIY service jobs to do on the car. The access to the plugs is rather hard.
  2. Welcome, some great roads around the Brecons, and with the awd you should be showing it the wet roads. wet roads and Scoobs = great fun :)
  3. Damm that's a bugger, shame it wasnt just the thremostat or a leaky hose/Rad :( Pretty sure some one wil come along with a suggestion, Maybe contact a local subaru specalist see if they have any heads.
  4. nice, must be great to have access mto a rolling road whenever you want :)
  5. Shame that, the car for you is out there somewhere, good luck with the hunt.
  6. I'd replace ethe thermostat anyway, I had one that looked like it worked ok when testing in the kettle, but wasn't opening fully when in the car. At £30 its one of the cheaper things to eliminate.
  7. Check the cam breather pipe?
  8. I've just asked the Fozzie owners on my local forum if the impreza pod will fit straight in. If not I dare say they will know a solution. I I remember rightly the pod is designed to replace the lid of the cubby hole not the whole thing.
  9. From the looks of it Pro R is an alternative to the Prodrive packs as neither invalidate the warranty. Found this for the 2008 PPP Power 330bhp at 5400rpm and torque 470Nm at 3400 rpm This pack contains.. Recalibrated engine management system High flow intercooler hose Stainless steel sports exhaust silencers Complies with Euro 4 emissions and noise regulations as per 'supercar limits’ http://www.subarupartsstore.co.uk/product/Impreza_WRX_STI_2.5_2008_-_onwards_Performance_Pack_SACC2811 I guess the extra 10bhp come from the removal of the cat in the Pro R set up.
  10. Surely you'd negate the need for a spray with the front mount? Unless your a real life Gran Tourismo driver giving the beans on a track all the time :D 1. It's a bigger surface area so will stay cooler and be more efficient 2. Its on the front getting more air Surely the average temp across the front mount would be considerably lower than the top mount fitted as standard? Even the bigger top mounts you can get run cooler than stock.
  11. Looking nice, lots of hard work gone into that :)
  12. Doh Forgot about the rad, could be a pin hole in the rad. Not saying Dogma is scaremongering, I heard all the stories of the head gasket going or warped heads, I also spent ages refilling the system trying to cure an airlock, but as I said it was a tiny pinhole leak in the end. Just get the car up to temp and pressure and spend time looking for leaks. I have a head gasket sniffer test I bought and never used, happy to sell it on to someone who needs it.
  13. Here is a link to a Fozzy work shop manual. I'm useless with wiring even using a manual hahaha http://www.gobookee.net/subaru-forester-workshop-manual/
  14. Lol yeah I just looked on their website. Wonder how it compares to the Prodrive 330 ppp pack? Can't seem to find any info on what is was. This was a dealer upgrade rather than the Prodrive 330s badged edition with recaros and updated exhaust etc.
  15. Just out of interest how much was the 340R pack?
  16. The only she I have to worry about at the mo is 2.5ltrs, 330bhp and dark metallic grey :). Cost more than a real woman though, least it's never got a headache when I want to play
  17. I'm no expert but I would say you have a leak somewhere in the cooling System, check you rad hoses and the water pipes that feed the Turbo. My classic had a similar problem in that ticking over it would be fine but as soon as you drove it, the temp would shoot up and the system would boil over. This was all down to a tiny split in the top hose that would expand under presure and leak. Hopefully some one more techincal may be able to shed some light on it.
  18. What ETS say?
  19. Lol don't be mean :pI was originally going to ask if Laura lived in a shoe, had so many kids, she didn't know what to do :d
  20. Blooming hell 24 kids! I bet they are a handful :D. Welcome to the club
