  4. Sounds like a proper scoob :)
  5. Welcome to the Mad House Becky (always been one of Fav names) :) There is a midlands Scooby club http://midland-scoobies.com/ which is a local rather than national Forum, maybe worth checking out to see if there are any local meets to you.
  6. Welcome to the Mad House :)
  7. I reckon it would be an idea to arrange a club stand at a show, that way we can promote the club show of the best cars in the club. I haven't done a lot of the shows, only a few at Santa pod with the classic a few years ago so don't really know the show scene that well. I used to go to Bug Jam and Beetle Bash which were Aircooled VW shows. Are there any Scoob only shows these days or is it all a mixture of cars?
  8. Here's a few suppliers of bits there's 2 or 3 uk based ones here, along with some good jap ones. http://www.just-subaru.com/ http://www.japanparts.com/ http://www.avojdm.com/ http://prorracing.co.uk/ http://www.scoobyparts.com/ http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/index.php
  9. How about dash mounted pods? http://www.ets-racing.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Page5.html
  10. Congrats on the pic its bigger than the pic I had of mine. I went to a Surrey Scoobs power run day at a rolling road once. we were asked to fill out a form on your cars specs. I thought it was for the rolling road guys to know what was on the car. There was some bloke taking pics with all this pro kit. And next thing my cars got a spot in a fast car magazine feature on the scoob rolling road day. I'd only has the car a few months and was well chuffed. Oh and the ring pic is miles better :D
  11. I watched that Hunt Lauder thing, last of the Gentlemen racers those 2. Legends both of them. Ron Howard's film rush look worth going to see.
  12. All those VW's and not even one Bug :( I remember driving Fiat with the straight 5 from Volvo in it, can't remember the model except is was a nasty yellowy green colour. Still the car was a hoot though. Good luck with the hunt for a scoob :)
  13. I cant see why not although I think it would he a lot of work to remove the temp gauge from the dash and replacing it with a boost gauge. I would think about a digital boost gauge rather than temp if dials are not your thing. The Apexi AVCR is both a Gauge and a boost controller that give much better control of the turbo. I had one in my classic and it was the dogs nuts. They're not cheap but well worth the investment. http://www.apexi-usa.com/store/electronics/avc-r/avc-r-boost-controller-black.html
  14. Fitted a Depo boost gauge today. Pod came from ETS racing. It's just stuck down with sticky pads at the moment, looking for a more permanent fix. Quick vid of start up. http://youtu.be/_CsW4a_n7XE
  15. I'm just glad it's working. lol there was me thinking: the garage had ripped me off. I had a hole in the tank. 15 ltrs is a !Removed! big reserve. I dreamt I put petrol in the car. I've finally lost the plot. Hahahaha
  16. typical after spending half an hour searching through the workshop manual PDF's I had to go move the car, turned on and the gauge is now Working. Oh well just glad I didn't have to rip the back of the car out to check it :)
  17. Got the orange reserve light on way home last night, stopped and put £20 in the needle didnt move. On the way to work put another £20 in and the needle still hasn't moved its just hovering on the last but on line of the guage. The needle moves during the start up sequence as normal. With £40 it should be at just over halfway. Anyone got any ideas?
  18. Braided Hoses are a good idea, Grahame Goode Racing 0116 244 0080 make up hoses to order. £35 for a pair of Front braided Brake hoses.
  19. Ahh OK it was the same as mine then it was the pully that was knackered. I never had any Vibration issues, but with the lighter pullies being ally they are not as strong as the OE ones so the same thing is more likley to happen, in my opinion.
  20. it was the woodruf on the pulley that got chewed up on mine. So the opposite of what you have, IF the woddruff on the crank has gone I dont know what to do in that case, I dare say Miggs will pop along with a solultion.
  21. Likewise, I do it by hand with a peice of wood across the pistons.
  22. Welcome to the mad House :)
  23. I fitted a billet one to my Classic and apart from having to get different belts as the pully is smaller than OE It was fine. never had any vibration issues. Although after a few years on mine the cut out for the key from the crankshaft wore away and the pully went a bit wonkey and started to rub away the cam belt cover. TBH the gains you make are infinitesimal, it just looks nice with a bit of bling. You'd really only need lightweight pulleys if you were building a race engine and every gramm counts.
  24. Welcome to the mad house :) Gambit I bet you put Jedi down as your religion in the census. This is me the day I bought my Stormtrooper bucket :d
