hi all, now I guess this question could open a can of worms, but....... i need a couple of front tyres for my wrx. I'm not a racer, I don't go to tracks, just normal every day driving with the occasional faster driving (as the law states for Impreza owners lol). What would you recommend? P zero nero's are currently on there now. many thanks

Update Firstly massive thanks to Tidgy, to explain i bought my car on the assumption that is was std except prodrive exhaust, so 225 bhp. Have been to the suggested garage that Tidgy recommended to me. On arrival I knew buy the amount of scoobys there I was at the right place. Left the car with martin for a couple of hours, he then tells me the car was producing 250 bhp. Fantastic I thought, over the moon even. He continued to tell me they have remapped it and the car is now producing 284.4 bhp. Absolutely amazed!! More than I ever thought. And the power is very noticeable and much smoother pick up. The guys at Plymouth have done a fantastic job and I would highly recommend them. Well worth the 3 hour round trip. Will go to them again for belt changes etc. also he gave me a tour of the garage, what a place to work. More like a playground.

Update my local garage has had a reply from Italy, they sent the 'log file' to them and they have come back saying the chip has be locked using ecutek software. So we all guess that the car might have been remapped before. Ive spoke to engine tuner as they use the ecutek software and I'm booked in at the end of the month. I think he's going to see what the car is producing and then maybe remap it again to get a 'proper' job done lol thanks for all the help again

Hi all i have a 2005 wrx, prodrive exhaust (I guess just back box)' cosworth air filter, no other engine mods. I've had 2 separate people try and remap the car for me, but both have had problems communicating with the ecu? The last garage is trying to contact people in Italy about it, but is this a common problem? Has anyone had this before? Is there a solution? many thanks jeff

Doh! I feel stupid now. Can I please delete this post lol just went out to check the car. All if fine and normal, but the fan was on with ignition on, engine not running. Scratches head, AC was on so switched it of and fan stopped. Put ac back on and fan started. Think i found what it was lol

Hi all, now I've only had my 2005 wrx for a couple weeks now, and the last couple of days I've noticed the electric fan is kicking in very soon after starting. I'm guess this is because of the hot weather, so the water is at temp before turning the key, would this sound about right? Temp gauge is normal, when it gets to temp it just stays there. Everything under bonnet seems normal. Or could it be a faulty sensor? many thanks

It's a 2005 wrx, used daily, but not far. And as it new a bit of a drive most nights. I'm sure that will change (hope not lol).

Excellent on the oil change. One I can do my self. Haven't looked yet at it yet, but does the oil filter have to be put back with a certain torque?

And any suggestion where I can get parts? air filter up pipe d cat etc

Sorry but is an oil change every 3000 miles a bit excessive? And would that mean the oil filer too?

Quick question, what petrol should I be using? My local places don't seem to have super unleaded anymore?

That's handy to know. Mum in west Dorset, what bits do you have? TBH having driven it around my usual roads, I find it fast enough. I think I would only like to do the bear minimum. I'll change the air filter. Is it worth while just doing that then a remap?
