  1. All cylinders are down on compression three at 100-110psi and cylinder closest to turbo is 60psi the last 2 are different colour they look burnt it's been misfiring like a pig under 3000rpm but I've got no smoke coming from exhaust and I've not lost any oil and plugs are clean changed them couple weeks ago think I've got to take engine out and inspect the heads not looking good but good time to upgrade I suppose Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Been trying to get to the bottom of my problem after some help please guys car drives fine for the 1st 3-4mins then get major hesitation/back fires on pull off and any gear below 3000rpm after that drives normal until I try to apply boost can creep up the rev range fine swapped every sensor can think of and spent countless hours searching internet for things to try until I did compression test which wasn't good news just took manifold off to look at exhaust valves as people seem to have the valve guide slip took pics if anyone could look at them and point me in the direction to go next as all look fine to me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Yh you can do if you remove all bolts around the diff and aslong as none of the suspension parts are in the way it's abit fiddly but can be done only 4 bolts use lots of wd40 and a big bar they are tight Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. So after spending days looking at wires and plugs finding nothing wrong just done a compression test and not looking good cylinder 1,2 and 3 90psi and cylinder 4 70psi the engine was cold and the gauge is old but not looking good car still starts and runs fine for the 1st 3 to 4 mins but then the misfire starts if I go below 2500rpm no smoke coming out the exhaust and not using any oil so im thinking the heads are at fault can anyone tell me if this is right thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks for the offer but I'm abit far from you going to go to my local breaker and see if he has any I've never had one go on me before but I've never had a problem like this can't understand how it drives fine over 2500rpm surly the engine is under more load then Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Yh mines a v2 with it on the up pipe only reason I asked if it could be cleaned is because I can't find one anywhere the plugs and coils were changed a couple weeks ago and tps was cleaned at the same time I did replace the ecu temp sensor a few months back and not had the engine management light come on which makes it more confusing will check all connections and wiring again when the rain stops Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. So driving home Sunday night all was well then my car started misfiring so pulled over checked everything was connected under the bonnet couldn't see anything out of place so limped it home to find the misfire is only between 1000 and 2500rpm after then driver like normal left it over night started next morning drove fine until the temp gauge moved then the misfire returned but now the idle is all over the place still drives fine over 2500rpm done abit of looking around and people saying o2 sensor but I'm struggling to find one for classic can anyone advise if the o2 sensor could cause this and if it's possible to clean it thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I had same thing with my classic ended up being maf sensor cleaning it would help for a couple days Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Hope you get to the bottom of it mate I can't stand electrical problems Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. My car has finally started :) put my new age coil packs in and it started straight up so I'm the spark wasn't strong enough from my coil packs so working car and worth while mod at the same time win win did you find out why you'd start running? Thanks for all the help guy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Yh I've got all my dash lights as normal I hope it's something as simple as that for you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Yh I have Clifford alarm and immobiliser which cuts all power to the car when it's on but it disables as it should so can't see that being the problem going to try bump starting it when traffic calms down see if that makes any difference Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I think the engine is flooded each time I take the plugs out there coved in fuel so it's getting there and injectors are firing on my fpr there is a gauge and there is no drop in pressure when cranking just can't figure out why it won't fire up just struggling to find a way to test each coil pack for sparks as everything is painted and the sun is shining right on my engine just really don't understand how changing fuel filter can cause all this then got the Mrs moaning cuz we mant to be going away in it on Saturday lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Hope you have better luck with your car and it's easier fix then mine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I've still had no luck put the plugs back in put blow torch on them before to clear any crap off them and nothing just turning over think I will wait till later and try bump start it down the road as I live on a main road there is a strong smell of fuel from the exhaust Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I've left them out for a couple hours again going to put them back in soon on the plus side It only takes 10mins to get the plugs in and out now if it don't work will try a bump start tonight Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Since having it mapped when I start it cold it idles around 1500 but once warm it's fine so just been living with it till got a few more things done then get it tweaked but whenever I do anything to it it does this then it's a right pain to get it started once it starts it's fine until I change something lol and no I haven't fitted one yet it is on the list of thing after I get back from holiday along with a air fuel gauge :) Does it sound right to you the cold start is chucking in too much fuel which floods it I've just never known it be so hard to start which makes me think there is another problem but everything is fine and it ran fine should have just left it alone lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Yh they were all mapped in only thing that has changed since the map 6 months ago is the fuel filter Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I could ask him if he was easier to get hold of by time I get a reply it will be sorted lol every time I've removed battery in the past it's been fine I will try taking the crank sensor off see if that helps I've had engines in and out a number of times and never had this problem I think it is to do with the map I've got a feeling it puts to much fuel in on cold start as I run maffless I've never had a car flood and not start as much as this one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Haven't got switchable maps yet I did remove the battery yesterday as it started to die from cranking it so should have reset it while it was out and my fuel lines don't go near that earth anymore as I've got parallel fuel line going so start on it again in about an hour hopefully today is the day it runs again I almost got them the wrong way round awhile ago so put labels on them :) could there be air in the fuel system and if so how would I get it out or does it bleed its self? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Vac lines and fpr are ok and tps and temp sensor haven't been touched I did take the idle control valve off tonight clean and refit with new gasket as it has been abit all over the place on idle still no joy I do get strong smell of fuel when cranking haven't had any pops it's not even tried to start I've left all plugs out at the mo to let it dry out I have a alcatek ecu can they be reset? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Yh the filer is the right way I've checked 3 times after seeing how many people have put it in wrong way lol and it's coil on plug there all in the right way checked that aswell running out of ides now thought it was going to be a easy job every time I do anything to my fuel system it seems to flood its self and can't figure out why Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I haven't noticed the smell of fuel from exhaust but will check in the morning as out work now it seems like it keeps flooding its self as when I took the new spark plugs back out there was fuel on them checked the spark plugs and I am getting spark so can't understand it did think about jump starting as I live on a hill but if it don't work I'll be stuck at the bottom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Nope all lights come on but then go off when start turning over as normal but engine won't fire Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. And checked all fuses in the car and under bonnet all fine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
