Subframe bushes is a possibility if it sound like a clank. its usually when moving from stopped in 1st gear.

Welcome to the club paul, as we all know rust spreads under the paint, so depending on how far from window the rust is, its very well possible it would be easier for them to take window out. Also keep an eye for rust under the spoiler, i had to get half of my boot resprayed it cost me £350 to do it.
