some info you might wanna know, bug eyes are cheaper than blob eyes. go for 2 liter engine because if you got for 2.5 the road tax is through the roof. i would recomment looking at about 2004-2005 year for the blobs, i bought a 2003 in a mint body with no rust for £5.5k with 84k miles on the clock and that was about 2 years ago from a dealer. make sure you check the first buyer link in my signature.
great car, sad to hear you have problem with it and a stupid warranty doesnt cover it( read tinny tinny small print when taking any warranty - sneaky baggers)
any parts you are looking for please post in a wanted partsa section. http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/forum/52-subaru-parts-wanted/
From my experience BP is one of the worst fuels for a turbo subaru. Best seem to be tesco 99 or she'll vpower nitro+ I use both and they are definitely best for turbo subarus.

When we bought forester the clutch was slipping and I still drove it 7 months on it. As long as you have a featherlight foot you should be ok for couple of weeks.

I suspect your problem is fuel related and not anything else as its a too much coincidance that after putting standard fuel you got the problem.
Any subaru that has a turbo should not be run on standard unleaded fuel. standard unleaded fuel is for emergency use only and you should not be running the car on boost ie keep it below 3k rpm. use Shell Unleaded Nitro + or Tesco 99. I personally run most of the time Tesco 99.

hey welcome. 1 thing jumps at me, when you change wheel diameter keep checking speedo, you dont want to be driving 70 and cops pulling you over for driving 75.
matt is right, to get 250bhp out of 99 2000 it would have been remapped. v5 is a standard ecu which as matt said can be remapped if you had a license, did the seller provide any receipts that would state payment for ecutek license and did he provice a dyno sheet.
