  1. TBH serviceing cost on my STi 330s haven't been to bad. 3rd yr service was £270 4th yr service £350 5th yr service £195 all at main Subaru dealer in Europa @ Sheffield :) petrol cost is the biggy along with Road Tax. Insurance for me is now cheaper than the RT I'm still under warranty, so break down parts I'm now worrying about till next January ;)
  2. Lee some more details on the car.. pix.. reg etc where was it bought from? Where in Leicester are you?
  3. these are Premiumautostyle rear red overlays for the 2008- sti hatch, I've imported a few sets and have a couple of sets left over. they are £30 including P&P (sign for delivery) PayPal will be fine. these will be sent out in a a3 size hard backed envelope. a how to fit guide is on youtube, search for premiumautostyle rear overlay fitting
  4. thoughts...... at the wheel.. BHP & Torque I'm quite pleased, as I'm still really a standard car apart from a ProR air filter. book listed figures for my car are 325bhp/347LbT so 319/359 I'm happy, bhp could be lower due to temprature or the rollers etc, but Torque is up on normal.. and it's all about the torque!! ;)

  10. interesting thread on www.m-soc.com about turbo timers.. being a waste of time. http://midlandscoobies.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=33469&hl=%2Bturbo+%2Btimers
  11. yep, driving with your fog lights on!!
  12. the 'camera club' I'm in have set a project to do a selfie picture including something that your interested in (so for me I'll do my car in my selfie pic) so, off camera triggered flash on the centre console, camera on tripod with a HD filter to stop glare bounce back off windscreen Manual mode on camera nd manual focus too. aperture f:2.8 ISO100 shutter speed 1/100. Not easy as I had to do a 10sec shutter timer, to give me change to get in the car. the had to check to see if I was in focus. Even though I'd got the STi logo in focus on the seat, when I got in my head/face was a little bit in front of the focus point of the STi logo :( the last picture of the night nailed it and I came in lol slight miss focus on face but recovered by doing in B&W ;) the last shot, I was more than happy with... apart from the subject matter was no George Clooney... more Martin Clunes ;) without the muppet in the front seat... ;)
  13. originally posted by Kev from ScoobyClinic on www.M-Soc.com (midland scoobies) The Gaffer, on 11 Feb 2014 - 11:21 AM, said: Hi, heres an example of what happens when using poor fuel.................. Can you see it ?? You can now, that’s what’s called a ring land failure and is due to detonation caused by poor quality fuel, eventually the broken bit rattles around, wearing the bore with debris until the engine is beyond repair, signs of this already show on the piston skirt. The images shown are a piston from a 2.5 STI hatch that the owner admitted to running on 95 and sometimes 97 octane fuel, food for thought ...... cheers kev
  14. I had a spare thirty minutes ;) this afternoon so I spent it finishing off Da Polishing the rest of my car (I did the bonnet last night) with the Menz2400 and 4500, then applied the Angelwax DRIFT. Finished off the wrap roof with Autofinesse' Finale detail spray (as it contains no wax/silicone in it)
  15. no, just pure white :)
  16. going to do a bit at a time on the scoob with the Da Polisher. so tonight I started on just the bonnet. DA Daz6 Pro polisher and polished it with Menz 2400 cream using orange HEX pad, then used the 4500 with the black HEX, after both applications I polished off with micro fibre clothes. THEN.. I finished with applying my ANGLEWAX DRIFT wax that is designed for white cars :) I have to say, my body work is smooth anyway, but had the usual swirls. Now I have next to non on the bonnet.. just a few I can see close up on the plastic scoop. When I look across the wing and the bonnet, I do see lots on the un polished wing. So I'm well pleased. Bonnet took about an hour or so to DA, then another 30-40 mins to apply and buff off the DRIFT :) applying the drift... I buffed off with a micro fibre cloth, then went over it again with a micro fibre noodle mit :) great results, not that you can tell off a camera phone lol :(

First registered at the end of Jan 2009, I bought it at the end of Jan 2011. had the last three years trouble free motoring :) great car, extra on it over standard.. ProR air filter, Eibach/Prodrive springs (gives a 10mm drop) then a few small cosmetic bits.. wroof wrap, perrin radiator shroud, SMD 5050 side light and number plate bulbs. HTAutos side skirts to be fitted very soon.
