2006 STI lowering
@savage bulldogsThanks mate ๐ The impreza is a second car so will probably end up doing similar miles to you. I don't mind a stiff ride (๐) But my plan to keep this car original doesn't seem to be going well.

2006 STI lowering
Yeah I find the handling decent for road use to be honest. Hows the ride on the coilovers? Wouldn't rule out coilovers but don't want it too be to harsh for day to day use.

2006 STI lowering
Evening, just after some opinions on lowering my 2006 STI. can someone reccomend some good springs that will lower the car slightly without changing the handing characteristics too much? i love the handling, the front just sits way too high in my opinion. Not really keen on going the coilovers route, so what's the best springs to buy? Any info would be great and if anyone has before and after pics that would be even better. Also added a pic of how it sits now for reference. Thanks ๐

This is our main/family car. Much bigger than it looks! The boot is bigger than the meriva it replaced. Its only a 1.4 turbo but had it remapped to 180bhp. Also fitted eibach pro -30mm springs and had the 19" alloys refurbed in matt black, smoked side indicators and led bulbs in the daytime running lights. Looking into getting the windows professionally tinted next.

The Rant! Thread
My biggest pet hate has to be when you get stuck behind some t@@t who thinks it's acceptable to do 40mph no matter what the speed limit. In a 60 zone doing 40, comes to a 30 zone and doesn't change speed, comes back in to the 60 zone and carries on at 40. When you eventually manage to over take it's normally some 80 year old who can't see over the steering wheel ๐ก๐ก

My 2006 hawk STI
Hey up Not long been a member on here so thought I'd share a few pics of my new pride and joy. It's a 2006 (56) impreza STI type uk in wr blue. I'm only the second owner from new, it has 78k miles with fsh and completely original. It's in really decent condition, just a few stone chips. All I've changed on the car are the number plates, to export size square ones and added a prodrive back box. Also ordered a walbro 255 fuel pump and a cosworth panel filter. Also have a remap planned once there fitted.

Newbie to the Soobie
Welcome! I used to have a legacy b4 rsk a good few years ago. I have also had a 2002 uk wrx, 1993 import wrx and currently I have a 2006 STI type uk. the legacy I had was a very quick and capable car, but a lot more 'grown up' in comparison to the Impreza's. More refined, more gadgets, nicer interior and more conservative looks. If i were in your position, I would test drive a few of each and make a decision. Impreza's for me ๐

New member 2006 STI
Just thought I'd say hi since I've just signed up to the forum. I'm Dave from Thirsk. I have just recently purchased a 2006 impreza STI type uk. More about the car as it was purchased: wr blue, 78k, fsh, 2 cambelt changes including one just done, 1 owner from new and completely original. Plans are to keep the car fairly standard. I've replaced the original STI back box with a genuine prodrive one as it was starting to look tired. Also fitted square plates, and partially debadged the rear. Also got a walbro 255 fuel pump and cosworth panel filter on order. only other plans at the moment are a remap once the panel and new fuel pump are fitted and a set of good lowering springs.
