Took the car along to ten of the best at elvington today, and parked it on the DDM club stand alongside @mattiekane. Some awesome cars on display and on track, with plenty of subaru's both on display and competing. Good day 😎

@Seminole81 I was at ten of the best at elvington today and it was crawling with impreza's. After seeing a few I've decided it has to be coilovers for me now, it completely transforms the look of the car altogether. In a good way 😎😎

Drove it too elvington and parked it on a club stand at ten of the best 😎

I know what you mean. If I fitted a winch to the front it would probably be pretty hand off road with the ground clearance it has 😂 I think a 35mm drop would make it look right. It wouldn't look lowered as such, it would just look how it should have been in the first place, if that makes sense? 👀

Proper old school 😎 Handy thing to have lying around, however most of the info could probably be found on the internet now. Didn't realise they were still selling them 😊

@aucky not seen one of those bad boys for a while.

Today was mostly spent getting the car ready for TOTB at elvington tomorrow 😎

Would need to add cash aswell though 😂

@Jesse James I haven't but if you go on list price high>low, I'm pretty sure it will be at the top 😂

I would definitely go for the sti, having had both. The wrx is good, but the sti has all the things you'd want to upgrade on a wrx already done, and should hold value better.
-
Even better if it's a jdm spec one. I'm not sure what the differences are in jdm spec to uk on a wrx but I'm pretty sure the jdm's are worth a bit more 🤔
-
@kershaw-330s I bet they will be worth a small fortune at some point down the line.
-
That sound a good price if it's a one owner car with that mileage. A good way to check the mileage is to download an app to check mot history and see if there are any points where the mileage has gone down between mot's.
-
@kershaw-330s and it's probably still worth that is it?

£15k is a bit steep like, I couldn't believe that white one with 9k miles Sold on eBay for £22k the other week. Crazy.
-
@Taiwan85 I clicked the link but it says it's been removed, maybe sold already? and if you ever are lucky enough to find a forged hawk sti for less than £8k, snap it up and you should be able to sell it for at least £4K profit. There is no such thing as a fully forged hawk sti for £8k.

Another Newbie seeking buying advice on Outback 3.0
HawkSTI replied to MrD's topic in Subaru Outback Club
Welcome 👍 Legacys are great cars, and like you say are renound for there reliability. Id say for the criteria you've mentioned though, before you settle on a legacy outback it might be worth trying an impreza wrx estate. It might deliver better in the fun/weekend aspect. Legacy will be more comfortable, and have more toys so it really depends on which of those 2 things you want the most. I cant help you with the mechanical side as I'm not really clued up on the 3.0 engines, but definitely check for rust, including under the car. -
Welcome mate 👍 Do you have any pics of your RB? Real nice cars, good choice. 🏎💥💨

I think his will be 5x100? I think it's only widetrack that has the 5x114.3 pcd? I could well be wrong though 😁
-
I didn't say you couldn't find them under £10k, but generally if you want a good one they are between £10k-£13k ish. One sold for £22k on eBay recently with 9000 miles on the clock. And yes there are a few cheaper ones. If your brother really did pay £7900 for a fully forged hawk STI, that is the bargain of the century and fair play to him. so there you go @Taiwan85, with your £8k budget you should be able to get yourself a fully forged hawk sti, with enough change for a couple of tanks of v-power. That's definitely the route I would go down.
