  1. There's some yes. But my estimation was based on a good, clean and well maintained example of an STI with good history and mileage. You cant list a load of previous write offs, wrx's and spec D's and say look at all these I found for less. That would be like someone saying my e46 m3 is worth £10k, then someone saying "no it's not, I've seen 330ci's going for £4K"
  2. An impreza p1 is worth £15k and is much older and 22b's are selling for crazy money and are also very old. the age doesn't necessarily determine the price. I could of bought a brand new fiesta/corsa if all I wanted was a new car. Whether you would personally spend £10k on one would be your decision. As for the cat D, whether it bothers you or not, that is the reason it's £9k.
  3. Nice, but obviously cheap as it's a CAT D write off.
  4. @Elephant spec d's are always cheaper for some reason and the black one with 468bhp is a wrx. The other 2 at £8k and £9k are well priced though and shouldn't hang about long. All the forged 2.5's I've seen have been over £12k, as it costs about £3-4K just to build the engine.
  5. £7900 for a forged hawk sti?
  6. @Rps nope 😂
  7. Most of the hawks you find under 10k will be spec D's, which is discrete. They are an sti but all the body styling is toned down, and they have black leather. Not my cup of tea but a good option if you decide you want a hawk for your budget. A normal hawk sti should be around 10-13k for a good one, with some slightly more and the odd one a bit less. Blob I think anywhere from about 7k upwards for a decent one.
  8. Widetrack is 5mm wider on each corner. You can tell them by the little arch extensions on the back (zoom into the rear arch on my car and you will see) All hawk sti's are wide track but only the later blobs. All hawks also have the dccd, driver controlled centre diff and some late blobs have it aswell.
  9. @Taiwan85 I was in a similar position a few months ago. I owned a 2002 wrx between 2006 and 2010 and spent a small fortune on modifying it. Basically what I ended up with after spending thousands of pounds was what I would have had if I'd of just bought an sti. So this time it had to be an sti. The difference between wrx and sti in standard form is huge. Stronger engine, bigger brakes, stronger 6 speed gearbox, stronger clutch, better suspension, nicer interior, more power, dccd, better wheels, all the exterior modifications like big spoiler etc.... i had a slightly bigger budget than you so a few more options and decided I wanted a blob or hawk sti. Test drove a couple of blobs and liked them, then test drove a hawk and fell in love there and then. Much better in my opinion. I think what puts people off the hawk is the 2.5 engine is fairly well known for ringlands and head gasket failure. But any scooby can throw up a big bill so I wouldn't buy based soley on that. Also most tuners will tell you that the best engine for an impreza is a forged 2.5. So if it does go just forge it and bang it back in. (I've set a couple of k's aside specifically for this purpose.) If you do go blob, which I'd reccomend with an £8k budget, deffo get the sti and I guarantee you'll love it 😁
  10. I do however agree, make sure it's blue 🚙
  11. If it has too be a blob, just whatever you do don't test drive a hawk, because you will change your mind straight away.
  12. @Taiwan85 welcome mate 😁 Both WRX and STI are great cars. If your looking at the blobeye shape, and with your budget I would reccomend an STI. The STI has most of the parts fitted from factory that you would probably want to put on your WRX if you started modifying it. Should get a nice one with your £8k budget aswell. or spend a couple of thousand more and get a hawkeye STI (2006-2007) which is a much better car in every way* 🏎💥💨 *in my opinion
  13. Just wondering what oil everyone is using in there Imprezas? Mines been run on 5w30 shell ultra helix from new, which I believe is the oil subaru reccomend. a Subaru specialist has told me the only oil he uses is Fuchs titan race, and recommended next time I changed it to swap it out too this brand and 10w40. Just wanting to know what brand etc of oil people on here are using in there scoobys.
  14. I might change my mind if I tried coilovers, but honestly for what I use the car for it seems to ride and handle well. It's sits very high though, you could camp out in the front arch 😁
  15. It looked like you were lining that up to say you were Spider-Man. Monday to Friday for me, weekend is a no-go 😂
  16. Cars looking good mate 👍 Is that a predator I see on your boot 😂
  17. @Rps how much did scoobyclinic charge for the exhaust, fuel pump and remap? Would you reccomend them?
  18. Working on a Sunday 😮
  19. @kershaw-330s I've heard a bit about shock knock. Mainly on the rears if I remember? Is it a problem once it starts happening or is it just annoying?
  20. @Seminole81 that might be the direction I go then. I think 35mm will make a good visual difference and should be a good balance of ride and handling for the road. Not to mention the price difference.
  21. Fancy coming past mine on the way and I'll follow you up? 😁 @mattiekane
  22. @mattiekane I'm thinking of going on ddm stand, you fancy it? Could meet somewhere and convoy up as a team 😁 I'm not sure yet though, might just park in spectators parking and have an hour extra in bed lol
  23. @Seminole81 there was a guy last week selling a set for £450 but mentioned they 'knocked' slightly. So didn't bother. I'm in no rush as the standard setup seems good to me. I'm also considering some good springs, might suit me better as all I'm really after is bit stiffer and a touch lower. Also a lot cheaper than coilovers.
  24. Not to mention @mattiekane who lives a mile or two from me 😁
  25. Just too keep this thread up to date.... took the car to ab auto performance in Hartlepool and had it fully undersealed. Looks like new under there now! And should provide a good few years of protection against the elements ⛈❄️🌦🌨🌧☃️☔️
