Hi has anyone got a answer for me. I can't figure it out, boot rubber is OK and boot closes properly but I still get a leak on left side? Help!!! 2005 blobeye wrx.

Check for leaks around the spoiler fixing points, if you can jump in the boot with a torch and get a helper to spray the hose over the boot area. Check for water ingress from the inside.

Nice one I will try this at the weekend, although strange it's only on the left side never damp elsewhere!!

Hi everyone, i'm new here and loving my first scooby which is a 2003 impreza wrx. I have exactly the same problem and the water always collects in the inner wing behind the boot liner. Going to check the rear lights and spoiler mountings points.

On another note, is there anywhere in skegness that sells super unleaded apart from the esso near the traffic lights.

I now there is a tesco in skeg Vegas but it doesn't sell super unleaded. Where do you fill your scooby up.

Check under the boot mat near the rear lights and towards the back, also under the spare wheel. There are factory spray drain holes that are usually covered with plastic round tape tabs; sometime people put rubber caps in to seal. These tape ones can come unstuck and let water in under pressure from the road water spray.

Have a look were the jack goes on the left hand side, iv just sold a 2005 which was all ways wet at that side, when I removed the trim I could see down in the quarter panel, put a light under their n you may see light between the spot welds.

  • 3 weeks later...

May have to have a look myself. I always thought it was the way i parked on my drive as water pooled on the back left of the boot. It hasnt stopped smelling since the firs big rain we had a few weeks ago

Well I have checked out all the places people suggested, but have yet to find leak point. All I know is that it comes from above because when I open the boot it's dripping down the boot liner.

Maybe dry it out, then put newspaper everywhere and blast it with a pressure washer with your head through a armrest,

Mine is dripping down the side of the boot I think its coming in from the boot spoiler as some of the bolts are a little rusty. But it still manages to collect behind the passenger rear light behind the boot liner.

Does anyone have a rear wiper on theirs ? No idea where the spray thing would be located on yours but mine had a split in the water pipe so every time I washed the rear screen it !Removed! it down in the boot area.

Mine hasnt got a rear wiper and I've checked the light seal and it looks ok. Can you see still get the boot seals from the dealers. I might change the boot seal anyway.

Maybe dry it out, then put newspaper everywhere and blast it with a pressure washer with your head through a armrest,

This is what I did with mine, you wouldn't believe some of the places water can get in!
