Exup1000 Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Morning women, My mate bought a 1998 impreza the other day, now I'm into legacies so I can only go on what I know form them. Anyway, the cars had bits done like a re map and the turbo has been changed apparently with a 5 inch back box.the geezer selling it said it had a massive down pipe on, which I said must be a three inch. But my mate said a bloke had a look at it and said its a 5 inch down pipe( I doubt he used calipers, probably used his member instead) Is their such a thing as a5inch down pipe ??..?. Thought it only went from 2.25-2.5-3.0
bowthruster Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Hi ive had a few classics and ive never heard of a 5" pipe, nearly all are 2"ish,some I know are 3",but never 5,thats a hell of a size! Maybe someone who's more knowledgeable than me will answer with a definite answer. But 5 is BIG....
Gambit Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Nope never heard of a 5" down pipe unless he's measuring the cat
Exup1000 Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 he's goto have the wrong end of the stick literally. Three inch is big enough ( that's what she said )
Exup1000 Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 I just use my arm instead, looks like nothing's changed on here ..........
stants Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 I have a funny story but it's too rude to put on here. Maybe he was measuring the circumference
savage bulldogs Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 He might mean 5" wide at the turbo outlet flange end instead of the bore diameter of the pipe 1
Steveuk260.Esq Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Very likely, classic imprezas are usually 2" classic foresters are 3"
