February 21, 201510 yr Hi the nipple on the top of my BOV has snapped! I wont be able to get a replacement till monday however i think iv got a audi tt diverter valve, will this work if i just vent it to atmosphere?
February 21, 201510 yr in theory yes that will work - you may have issues though if the spring tensions are different meaning the valve will activate at different pressures, why not run without the BOV fitted until you get a replacement?
February 22, 201510 yr If you Blank the vac pipe to the dv , remove the dump valve and bung the hole it comes out of . You'll get flutter (turbo stall) and the gear changes might be a bit lumpy but it shouldn't harm anything if it's only for a short while
February 23, 201510 yr Author Ok so ran it for a day and it sounded weird so got a dv first thing today. Bought a genuine hks ssqv with fitting kit. I have to say it sounds so weird!!!! On low boost it does have a bit of a psssst to it but on high boost it chirps sounds like iv got a bird under the bonnet!!!
February 23, 201510 yr there is a bolt on the hks that can be used to adjust the spring inside, this will give a more predominant psssst or slight flutter, mine does both though and i prefer it like that :)
February 23, 201510 yr Author probably take some getting used to! However my boost topped out at about 10psi! So my old BOV look like it may of had a minor leak!
February 23, 201510 yr Author Hasn't fix idle issues but iv been thinking (not normally a good thing) the ecu i bought has MAF delete when i use that ecu the idle runs solid at 1500rpm (rotational idle with als) does this point to MAF? When I unplug it one original ecu car stalls

February 23, 201510 yr that would mean its remapped, id get your car looked at on a dyno to be safe as you could be running rich, 0.7 is 10 pis which is standard boost, if so im afraid your running about 212-220 at best

February 23, 201510 yr it seems very strange that it would only make less that 30 hp if im honest, hence why im saying take it to a rolling road, for it to get an increase in hp there has to be and increase in boost, however yours is running totally standard boost pressure, if remapped, most scoobs run around 1bar of boost or around 12-14 psi depending on the turbo, fueling etc. http://www.worldwidemetric.com/measurements.html

February 24, 201510 yr Author Hey guys, my mechanic has found a split pipe, its a small U shape that runs close to the throttle body anyone any idea what its for? Appears to be a very stiff pipe looking for a replacement.
February 24, 201510 yr A pic would be ideal as there's quite a few pipes on the inlet . I haven't got many of a standard phase 1 inlet but Can you see it in either of these pics .
