Hello.

I'm new to the forum but I've owned subaru's for a few years.

I'm really struggling to find parts for my forester 2.0 xt turbo 53.

Is this model classed as the 04 for parts because every parts shop I go to can't source anything for my car.

I have my Mot due in June and I need a full new exhaust,and same for the OSF lower wishbone.

All parts that I can see are for 04.and no 2.0turbobefore 03.

I don't want to get rid of the car cause it's great for the family but I don't know what else to do.i can't affoard to spend 1000's on a custome exhaust.

Any help with this problem would be great

Thx tracy

Hello welcome,

I'll have a proper look tomorrow when I've not had a drink but a custom built system is cheaper than subaru want for a mild steel one. Powerflow do reasonably priced systems, failing that impreza parts of the same year normally fit.

Thanks for replying guys,

Do you know if the parts for an 04 Forrester will fit my 53 plate. What Gen is my car?

I've been to a few garages and they can't get parts for the 53. They said there doesn't seem to be parts listed for my 2.0L XT.

Thanks

The vin plate should tell you the engine code too. I presume so as the turbo sits in the same place in all models, you should have one cat in the downpipe and another cat in the middle.

Mr B (forum member) he's an independant subaru specalist, is your best bet maybe send him a private message and he'll be able to help out as my knowledge of the sg is limited.

However I think that most 'new age ' impreza of the same year parts should fit

Wotcha and welcome Tracy, nothing to add to what has been said. It may well be worth investigating a powerflow type exhaust system particularly if you are looking to keep the vehicle

For exhaust you best going with custom at around £400 at most for cat back. Any issues with y section you best getting good used.

Wishbones are same as other SG models, doubt you need wishbone unless it bent or corroded, what you probably need is wishbone rear bush & that £26 on eBay, wishbone balljoint & that £9.99 on eBay. Front wishbone bush rarely needs doing but if does you can use a polybush & that £17.10 on eBay

if Wishbone is bent corroded once again pick up a good used one, they same as on any SG

Wishbone rear bush = http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200824608138

Balljoint = http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Forester-96-14-Front-Lower-High-Quality-Ball-Joint-STB-STi-XT-X-SF-SG-/351320021782?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&fits=Model%3AForester|Plat_Gen%3ASG&hash=item51cc4e1b16

Polybush = http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Forester-SF-SG-Impreza-GC-GD-Legacy-BC-BD-BE-Front-wishbone-front-bush-/271423547325?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3f321aa7bd

ICP parts http://www.importcarparts.co.uk/parts?cat=96⊂=494

will be useful to you along with any local motorfactor that specialise in jap & deals with BluePrint & SolidAce parts

If stuck post what need with good descriptive detail & we will link you to it, almost everything can be crossed to standard forester SG or impreza turbo .
