Scoobyghost
Just felt like there was less bs with Keith Michaels.
Gambit
I think most insurance is Bullshit if I'm honest :D Haha Bullshit gets past the swear police :D
Scoobyghost
Wow I typed bs to avoid the filter. Good to know the filter isn't complete bullshit. You're right gambit but I'd rather pick the one who seems to have less bullshit at the time. [emoji4]
Gambit
Bullshit's bullshit. they can put as much glitter on it but it will still be bullshit. Haha
Scoobyghost
This one smelt a bit better. Didn't taste so bad either made it easier to swallow. [emoji38]
Inked83
This is all incredible to me, you guys should try and avoid specialist insurance companies, you seem to be taken for a ride to be totally honest.
Scoobyghost
[emoji4] Mainstream companies like admiral wanted double and higher for my car without mods.
Inked83
As I said in a previous post we also have a 400BHP diesel panemera and pay Less than the insurance companies quoted for you guys on a scooby.
Scooby Pete
This is all incredible to me, you guys should try and avoid specialist insurance companies, you seem to be taken for a ride to be totally honest. For me this was over 12 years ago, Scoobs were not that popular in the UK and weren't really that common at the time. I had to go specalists as my 1st Scoob was a JDM import and I did quite a few mods which were declared, so 98% of the mainstream insurance companies wouldn't touch me. Those that did were charging over £1.5k.Tescos quoted me £700 but they had screwed up and quoted me on a UK cr not an import. They wanted £1100 for my 1st year but honoured the quote as I had stated lots of times it was an import. After that I went to Keith Micheals and they were under £1k with all declared mods. The vast majority of the cars were imports around that time as there were only UK2000 and P1's officially available through UK dealers
Scoobyghost
As I said in a previous post we also have a 400BHP diesel panemera and pay Less than the insurance companies quoted for you guys on a scooby.I searched all the comparison websites and went to individual companies that aren't included but no one could get close to the price that the specialist offered me. And that was still without modifications.
stants
Trouble is postcode lottery plays alot and they go on the amount of cars written off/stolen so I imagine a fair few impreza's were pinched and destroyed between the mid 90's early 2000. That all counts against us even if we have x amount of no claims, etc etc I can't imagine that many hatches or panamera have been twocked compared to classics. Mine went from 675 to 550 in the year and I'm hoping next time round it will be less as I've had the car for a while 9 years ncb. Direct line won't even insure me with exhaust mods declared as 'we only deal with standard cars' My mate has a xv220 stage two supercharged, same again mainstream company won't touch him but a subsidiary company will ?
jay14
Mines is £366 fully comp protected no claims with AA through compare the market on my recently bought 05 blobeye ppp. I'm 33 with 9 years no claims, live in northern Ireland
Gambit
I'm with the NFU it's not a specialist company they even said to me it would be high because they class Impreza's as a high performance car which is right they are. I've been with them for ages I just think better the devil I know but I'm still paying a lot more than what I would with any specialist. I hate the comparison sites I found with most the insurance policies they some how lose a few mods when you get to check out to make the price lower I'm guessing, well that was what happened to me. So no longer trust them. And normally with specialists they have similar cars or have an idea of what we do to our cars. Theory they have an idea we spend alot of money doing them up so we look after them more.
martyc
As long as it's reasonable and I have scope for basic mods (PPP spec- probably non PPP parts tho) I'm happy :-) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
martyc
Decided to ditch the dv for now, got a standard recirc valve off eBay to put on as i don't want to pay £300 extra on insurance just to make a bit of noise! Gambit
Crazy that £300 for a dump valve :o I wouldn't normally say it but I'd just stick it on. keep the recirc in the glove box not like it's a power upgrade or anything.
martyc
Well i picked her up today... I'm blown away, amazed and in love. Had a cheeky little rolling start in her and was left giggling like a school girl! Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
martyc
Thought I would upload a pic- bit boring as totally standard but gave her a quick wash and polish today, took the bailey dump valve off and a standard recirc back on. I miss the sound but seems smoother and more responsive especially on gear changes. Also been told my prodrive exhaust has turned up at work today, and I've ordered a scoobyworld seat cover to try keep the interior clean. Being a maintenance manager by day means that i can get a bit grubby.... Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
