stants Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 my under bonnet insulation is seperating at the front and the yellow stuff is showing. (the black mesh stuffisflappung around) anyone recomend something to stick it back down that won't catch fire, i'm thinking some of that reflective engine foil on a roll, or can i cut it back ? or just remove the lot and leave the base stuff ?
Jay762 Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I would have thought you could remove it - I believe it is just for noise damping
dogma1 Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 got rid of mine as soon as I got car just pulls off. can then clean bonnet.
stants Posted July 5, 2013 Author Posted July 5, 2013 the whole lot ? i did find it a bit odd fpr it to be there as it's not very noisy on the 1st place
Miggs Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Yeh the full lot, only thing on the under side of mine is the metalwork on the scoop and breather vents

Adam Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 If anyone is interested, I have an aftermarket bonnet blanket for an Impreza Classic turbo which I could do with selling some time. It's never been used being an unwanted gift (note to well meaning friends... I drive a Legacy!) and even if it did fit my car, it's not really my style as it's made of some sort of aluminium foil, so is a bit too shiney for me. If anyone is interested I'll dig it out of the shed and post some photos. If not, it will go on eBay if I can ever be bothered. 2
