Revs issue

Howdy chaps

I have a 10 hatch WRX-S WITH 55k on clock

She has just had a HKS BOV and a cobra sport de cat exhaust fitted.

She now revs occasionally between gear changes and idle is a little erratic.

She also at one point suddenly cut my power steering and power mid steer when I pushed her a bit harder

Any help appreciated chaps cheers

Not had it mapped yet. The parts have shifted the power band up the Rev range more than I would like so definitely needs a map. Anybody recommend a good place?

I'll give the clean of the sensor a go as well

Cheers

The cut mid corner could be fuel surge. If I have 1/4 tank or less and try to power out of a long corner it'll bog down. I'm on a classic so not sure if they redesigned the tank and pump by the time it gets to your model.

The decat could allow over boost which may cause boost cut as the sensors won't like that. Agree with what's been said it needs a map now to bring all the mods together and get it all under control.

She is going on for a remap on Friday morning with Duncan. Noticed my power steering fluid is low so wondering if the cut out during cornering may have been from sucking air due to fluid sloshed to one side. The revs as well may be from the BOV being too tightly spung. That being said the HKS I have is not adjustable. Will update again once the map is done gents with results

Another member has said this in another thread:

"Also have a look at the butterfly which the throttle cable goes to, mine was sticking and causing it to rev between gears and sometimes on idle. Simple WD spray and a clean up. Mystery_Machine your car looks outstanding."

Update.

The car has had a map. Minor bhp increase of around 15. Big Torque increase of around 70 pound feet.

Still rev issue though between gear changes.

Will check the throttle catch cable next
