Hi all been offered a swap of a 1993 impreza sti for my rusty old 91 nissan s13. Figured id join here to learn about them a bit before i commit.

A few questions? According to wiki the sti didnt exist until 94 so will this 93 just be a wrx? Its apparentlt an import but the ariel is on the A pillar not the rear quarter? I cant see if it has a rear wiper. Although apparently it has jap writing dotted over it... but it was first registered in thr UK in 93 so it would have been imported brand new?

From what I understand, the early sti' were classed as WRX but with the STI upgrades done post production, so may not show up on the like of wiki and the vehicle documents but could still be an STI not too sure about the wiper and arial part though, mines a 1998 STI import and mine has the arial on the rear quarter and has a rear wiper

hope this helps I'm sure someone else will know exactly what the crack is with the early classics

Welcome. Easiest way to find out what it is. is to look at the original japanese registration documents that should specify on it.
