  1. Always had a soft spot for these but as above I've only ever had nothing but trouble with anything French! 😂 Shes nice though should make a nippy track toy!
  2. Damaged gears? Or maybe even something wrapped around one of the driveshafts? Bit of an odd one
  3. If you've done all that work in one lump that's a hell of an upgrade, I'd say you'll definately need a map
  4. Ahh haha yea I imagine so, I assume yours would also be de restricted too? Quite like the look of this clock as it looks like standard apart from its got the mph on too
  5. Hi guys, to get my car through its MOT over here I need a mph lit up on the dash and as the JDM STI doesn't have one I've bought the dial face off Lockwood international. Just been looking for videos of it on the tube but can't find a classic Impreza specific one, anyone done the conversion? How difficult is it? Anything to watch out for? from the videos I've seen of other cars seems that's there's quite a bit more to it than I thought naturally I'm a bit scared to start pulling apart the dash on my pride and joy cheers!
  6. I never really liked white cars (probably because my white van is white and tatty and filthy) until I started seeing some nice clean white scoobs, I think the thing with them is that you can tell how well they've been looked after as it starts to show very easily, body work wise this is nearly mint apart from some minor de-laquering around the back window and a couple of tiny spits of rust
  7. Mine has one on it does look good, I think the guy who put it on didn't quite put enough glue on it as its a bit flappy but I don't want to cover my car in glue either It is one of those I take it?
  8. Mmmmmmmmm classics 😁 Nice car buddy and welcome! how come you want to respray it? Looks pretty tidy from the pics
  9. I wish it was that easy seems to be a lack of scoobs over here and if people go decat they get rid of the cat because they don't get tested again, but I think I'd rather have a sports cat for peace of mind in case I do get pulled over and checked in future (yes I know I'm a little goody two shoes 😛)
  10. I think it was mapped for the exhaust as I got a receipt for JGM to remap it when it first came over but it was dyno'd last year and is pretty much standard power so I'm assuming it was just being set up for that exhaust. Also I don't think they actually do an emissions test they just check for a cat by the sounds of it but If I'm going to spend a decent amount for a high flow sports cat I might as well leave it on
  11. Hi guys so I tried putting my car through its test over here on the Isle of Man and one of the points it failed on was that it doesn't have a cat. so if I was to fit a sports cat would I need the car set up or will it run fine? seen one on jap speed for £250 I assume they're decent quality from there? cheers in advance
  12. Cheers jay can't wait to have her detailed properly
  13. If it's tint film, you should be fine with normal glass cleaner and a soft rag. Only time I could see a problem if it was seriously cheap tissue grade film or if it's not fitted correctly (peeling at the edges or wrinkles or bubble) where it might catch
  14. got it! Cheers savage! cant wait to get her all serviced and squared up for summer oh and one the one way system on the mountain tt course
  15. Just given her a quick clean so thought I'd finally pop up a few pics just having her sat on the drive puts a grin on my face shame about the gravel drive though means the wheels are dirty as soon as I move it 😢 dont know how to turn the two photos?!
  16. Never mind that didn't work haha but that looks similar to the one I'm going to get
  17. Ahhhh ok that's promising this is a pic of the of I'm gonna get
  18. Cheers guys! Mines a v4 its purely just to tidy it up and I'd rather have a nice panel filter than a cone is all 😊 And it's literally just the box I need I think as my cone is where the airbox should be so should be dead easy if it's the same
  19. So my classic '98 STI has a horrible cheapo cone filter fitted at the mo and I've just been up to my local scrap yard and there's a turbo 2000 up there with the standard air box not sure on the year but are the airbox's the same or am I better off getting an STI one off fleabay? thank you! 😁
  20. Yea engines standard it's got a decat or cat back exhaust. I'm not too sure on the software, I know the car has a apexi fc commander and has been mapped by JGM?
  21. That's what mines got reads 2 when cold then goes to 9/10 when warm is that good?
  22. My mates bike was plasti dipped Matt black was awful peeled off as soon as you touched it
  23. Sorry to jump your thread but what's a normal knock reading?
  24. some nice 'name dropping' of cars here i'm very jealous, would love an old capri one day and also a mk2 escort, but so far at 23 ive had (in order) Renault megane 1.6 (was awesome on fields ) Seat leon 2001 1.4 1989 mini something or other project which i never finished (massive regret! ) E36 318i E46 316i se Seat Leon Cupra R (remapped to about 260bhp) Renault Laguna estate - hands down worst car i've ever had, felt guilty seling it so got scrapped haha E46 320D M sport which was awesome so comfy and yet still nimble and nippy Citreon berlingo van 1.9 NA (current daily) E36 318i bought for £150 with blown head gasket ongoing project still sat on the drive 1998 Impreza WRX STI V4 import which i've only had 3 weeks but seems to be also turning into a project... still love it though
  25. I agree with martyc these sort off products seem a bit too much of a sales pitch also correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't spraying a water based de greaser directly into your intake be well not very good for your engine?
