I have a problem with my oil temp and pressure. I keep getting both showing a warning. The fans are working with air conditioning on. Any reason why I would be getting the warnings. Oil checked and fine. It's only just started since the hot weather and particularly when stationary. Once I get moving the warnings disPpeAr

Anyone got any ideas

Oil getting too hot and pressure too low?

Yeah. Coolant topped up and fine. The only thing I haven't done yet is check if the fans come on when engine running and stationary. If they don't, could this be the issue. How do the fans cool the oil?

Wouldn't  of thought fans would affect the oi,l coolant fans on these cycle every few minutes on a scooby when stationery especially in recent weather ,maybe oil grade is to thin or oil needs changing when was it last changed and do you no what grade was fitted, subaru recommend 5/30 grade oil but I was told by a well known  subaru specialist it's to thin especially in hot weather ?

The oil is cooled at the modine by the coolant. If the coolant gets too hot it won't cool efficiently and could end up transferring heat.

I found that with 5-30 when hot at idle pressure could drop to 16psi, now I've changed to 5-40 it's more like 23psi.

Also if it's aftermarket gauges just double check that the warnings aren't incorrectly set and going off too early.

Oil is millers 5/40 and full change 3000 miles ago. Gauges are prosport. I'm due to do a full oil change soon. Would it be recommended to change grade? Would there be a way of testing the gauges to see if they are reading incorrectly.

5/40 is fine for all but the big power scoobys millers is great oil but always use a genuine black oil filter from scoobyparts or icp...as someone else mentioned the gauges might be set to alert to a problem at to low a pressure or temp which has been highlighted by hot weather not sure how you adjust those gauges maybe someone  with them could help...have you now checked cooling fans are coming on without  air con I, m sure if they weren't car would have seriously overheated in recent hot weather i think it's the gauges need that adjusting presumably  you,ve not had any dash light warnings as well...☺

What readings are you getting when the warnings go off?
