H6 idler pully or bearings?

Featured Replies

Had a strange noise on startup for a while now. This afternoon it stopped abruptly and when I looked the pulley had dropped right off.

Anyone know if it`s a replacement pulley or just the bearings?

Cheers

Steve

I'd presume it's a new pulley needed as more than likely sheared off ?

Looks like the bearing seized and the bolt just unwound itself

I think if the idler bearing bolts are over tightened (not torqued down properly ) they can snap , so check to see if the bolt is in 1 piece . As you might need to extract the broken bit and buy a new bolt with the new idler bearing.

If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊

It`s being sorted today, both the idler and tensioner pullys come as a set and they are something which needs replacing occasionally

.

Yep. It was the tensioner pully though.....my mistake.

But I also will need the idler pulley pretty soon which I can't seem to find anywhere.
