Ablaikie
Hi guys , I purchased a 08 plate diesel legacy and the gearbox is gone and nearly the rear diff as well. I was wondering if the outback transmission would go on to it , I haven't got the part code yet and was wondering if anyone knew if it would be compatible. Thanks in advance . Greenmamba
Are you asking Legacy diesel to OB diesel? Ratios may be different, not sure about mountings. Obviously, differing diff ratios wouldn't work front to rear.
stants
Have a look at your vin plate on the strut tower in the engine bay, The gearbox code is stamped on it In theory you should just be able to find a replacement with same code and it will go straight in, If you can't find a match you'll need to swap diffs driveshafts and possibly hubs to keep correct ratios & stop it all eating it's self Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Yeah it's from a diesel to a diesel , I'm just going to play it safe and get a like for like , that should save any unwanted hassle , they ate just so hard to find in the diesel version . Thanks for your help 😁.
