Classics run a tapered "conical fire ring" gasket between downpipe and cat back .

If the 3" cat back has a tapered flange the 2.5 fire ring normally seals fine . Generally it's only if the 3 " cat back has a flat flange that it won't seal but I dunno if newage is the same .
