Hi all,

I am hoping some one can help me. When I start the scoob from cold I get a really loud whining noise and turning steering wheel  goes all hard. It only usually lasts a few seconds but is really annoying/worrying me. If anyone has had the same issue please let me know how it is resolved. Any hep is much appreciated :)


Maybe the power steering belt? Check and see how much play it has

The fluid might need a top up as well...

Have you checked your power steering hoses, mine had gone hard causing the pump to suck in air giving a whining noise. Are you getting any judder on the steering at slow speed? And have you checked your fluid?

when mine was whining, my belt was loose

PRO-TIP

When its whining, spray some wd40 on it and see if it goes, then its either a bad belt or loose belt.


I'd change the power steering fluid.
