Wrong section admittedly but i thought i may get an answer sooner here

Ive wired my sub and amp up in my car and my headunit has only got a green subwoofer out no preouts as such.ive bought a y splitter and plugged them both in and it doesnt work.

Before anyone asks i did wire it up outside the car and i got it working but i cant remember how i did it lol

 

Any advice


Definitely got everything connected..

 

Power +12v

Good earth

Remote

 

Phonos should run on a Y split, ran a few cars like that

Yea all connected.amp power light in so earth power n remote all gud.

Shut i y split both ends cos ive only got the hu end done

Have you told your head unit to send a signal down the phono as some don't untill set up the sub out

Oo i dint no that.its only a cheap **** one that came in the car its bluetooth dvd ect but nowt special.il have to look on the settings tomorrow.thanks mate

No option for this so still stumped

The only thing now is check the cable and amp and if thats all good time for a new head unit lol

Earth is usually the culprit but, where did you take the y from ?

 

On some 4 channel head units If no sub pre out? they tell you to run a sub off the rear speaker output not sure why but when I wired my sub in that's what the destructions said

Yea its the headunit borrowed my mates n it works fine so ordered a preout kit to wire to rear speaker as sugested by @stants 😁 i will be deaf eventually
