robbinsabu Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Hey guys my car is fully stock, no issues except the CEL(oxygen sensor) and ABS(abs sensor got busted while changing the hub) have had 1 issue since i got the car 2yrs ago, its a 5speed manual and a navigating steep hill whether on road or offroaf has been a nightmare, the car looses power and stalls if i push it hard i hear a screeching noise from where i guess is the clutch, otherwise it performs perfectly on a flat road off or on.... Any help will be appreciated, thanks Sent from my GT-I9301I using Tapatalk
Scoobyghost Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Is it possible the flywheel has been lightened?
robbinsabu Posted August 31, 2017 Author Posted August 31, 2017 Not sure, the duration I've had the car never had any gearbox and or clutch issues so nothing has been lightened Sent from my GT-I9301I using Tapatalk
robbinsabu Posted August 31, 2017 Author Posted August 31, 2017 Is it possible the flywheel has been lightened? What do you mean by lightened ScoobyG?! Sent from my GT-I9301I using Tapatalk
Scoobyghost Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 If it's had a clutch change the flywheel may have been changed for a lighter unit. One symptom of a lightened flywheel is a car will struggle more to climb hills. The flywheel acts as an inertia wheel so maintains and carries a bit of energy making it easier on hills. If it's doing it at low speeds and you have a screeching I'd hazard a guess at it being release bearing or spigot bearing. What mileage is the car on?

robbinsabu Posted August 31, 2017 Author Posted August 31, 2017 So does that mean i replace the whole unit both clutch and flywheel? Sent from my GT-I9301I using Tapatalk
robbinsabu Posted August 31, 2017 Author Posted August 31, 2017 At low speeds climbing uphill theres no noise at all, its only when you are coming from a dead stop halfway up the hill, if you gas it too much and don't release the clutch concurrently it screeches hard but continues up, if its a really steep hill the car will stall and has to be pushed up Sent from my GT-I9301I using Tapatalk
Scoobyghost Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 So it's a pulling away issue not a momentum issue?
robbinsabu Posted August 31, 2017 Author Posted August 31, 2017 So it's a pulling away issue not a momentum issue? Exactly! Sent from my GT-I9301I using Tapatalk
Scoobyghost Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Would rule out the flywheel then.Next would be clutch release bearing and spigot bearing.
