Trying to do a vin check on my Subaru iv just bought....it's asking for a 17 digit number but only have a 9 digit number on the log book?Can anyone help plz.

Vin number should be on your v5c paperwork or if you look on the passenger side of your car from the outside in 

it should be in a rectangle block between dashboard and windscreen 

Also check inside drivers door on the frame work

The chassis/vin number is stamped on the top of bulk head above the clutch fluid reservoir.

The silver id plate has.... model , trim , option , engine and gearbox codes. Basically everything needed to identify what parts are fitted to the chassis from the factory [emoji6]

That looks like an import vin so will only be 9 numbers,

It's a regular WRX sedan in silver.

Manufactured in June 1995.

From the factory it would have electric windows, central locking & aircon but no ABS.

No. That's the correct engine code for the car with that VIN number, model code & option code.

That's way out of date & I've not got round to updating it.

This is much more accurate. Has EU/UK/AUS cars in also
