Hi guys just a quick question, my friend is looking at a 2006 WRX which is advertised as a 2.0,I told my friend I was sure that from that year the engine size should be a 2.5l engine, is this the last of the 2.0 engines?

Thanks

That's what I thought but he says he's checked the tax bracket and it's coming up 300 a year which is the lower tax, surely the 2.5 would be the higher one, strange

There are some Hawks out there that were registered just before the tax changes in 2006. So it is possible to have a 2.5 with the lower tax

We'll it's definitely a 2006 WRX hawkeye ive looked at the logbook and it definitely says 1994 cc, the reg is E20 WRX is someone could make some sense of it for me.doesnt seem like an import,is it possible it was misregistered when new as a 2.0 instead of s 2.5?.

highly unlikely a uk car would be miss reg'd (bit that it isn't impossible, but subaru would have batch done them so an error would stand out), any pics of it?

The mystery grows,I checked the engine number (as recommended by scooby clinic) it says ej20,2.0 right?, also phoned local stealer , who confirmed it was registered by Subaru from new as a 2.0 2006 WRX. Hmm

blob was 04/05, hawk 06.

But thats just when the paperwork is sent off to the DVLA. short version is a 2005 spec car on a 2006 plate.

Nothing to worry about. if you ever need parts just say its a 2005 wrx
