we have decent food and coffee over here now so its way better than it used to be, we still import a lot of wine and Grappa can be got quite easily, your wife could feel right at home - oh apart from the weather of course :) and we dont do fresh urchins either - which is a shame

There is places you can get fresh seafood from before it's even been brought to shore :) Place in south shields lets you order it as it's coming in on the boat :) 

Thats true and its one of the best nights out I have had, your wife would have a true experience of  northern hospitality :D
