Honest to god, is this ever going to end...

When parking earlier, the brake pedal stuck then released...

When I park I roll back in neutral with my foot on the pedal....but this time when rolling, my foot's on the brake, it rolls back about 2ft and stops. The brake's solid and can take my foot off it and the car doesn't move, but when I press the clutch, it seems to release the brake. I know the clutch isn't in any way related to the brake., so what happened.

Obviously this is something else that's went wrong, but what, why and where......has anyone had this before

I read in the manual that classic's have a hill start braking system on the hand brake , which keeps the brake on until you move forward .

I have no idea how it works (it might just not roll backwards) but it could possibly be the hand brake sticking on and not releasing until you move .

I maybe didn't explain It good either.....basically when I roll back, engine idling, foot on the brake, it's fine till about 2ft then just stops and the brake's solid....press and let up the clutch and starts rolling and for couple of feet....!Removed! odd, it just started tonight

You're right savage....I just read the manual, I've never had it before in a car, and I've had a few...I thought something else was buggered, probably because I've now got brakes with renewing the o's rear pipes......just 400 odd quids worth of welding to be done now

Yea it does :) ...like I say though, I honestly though something else was fkd

I wonder if the 95 wrx has it....it's weird though, I can shove it about the drive and flat ground quite easy, but it wont roll as easy on hills ect as the sport when in gear and idling

I could be wrong but as far as I'm aware it's only sport classics as they use a cable clutch the turbos have hydro clutch, the sport I just stripped had it fitted and it is connected with the clutch hence why it will work when your in the car pressing the clutch or car in gear but neutral and you out of the car is likely not activating it, Dogma fitted a new clutch on his sport not knowing what the extra parts were, he tightened up the nuts connected to it all and couldn't understand why his brakes stayed on till he read the manual
