Regular drive or weekend car?

Hello all,

I have a question how many Impreza owners use their car on a daily basis (as I do)? Or are most just a weekend car?

Reason for my question is I took a drive from High Wycombe to Buckingham near Milton Keynes today to see a friend, on my journey I saw three impreza's all were sat in drive ways, I did not see one on the whole drive on the road!

Mines a daily, I take the kids to school in it every morning and went to Sheffield to take a mate to buy a new car, I have the wife's performance diesel car if I can't afford juice at anytime but I try and drive the subie as much as possible

Being a self employed plasterer I use my (very frugal) 1.3cdti combo van every day and the mrs works 2 mins walk from home .so I only do about 3k miles a year in the scoob as it only gets driven at the weekend , well if I can't think of a good enough reason to take it out in the evenings ;-)

Unfortunately I couldn't afford to run mine as a daily.

14k miles in the last 3 months is not what I plan on putting on the RB320.

My first STI, I bought new and only used as a weekend car, the second 1 I used every day and put 25k miles on it before selling up.

I decided when I sold the last 1, that if I could afford another it would only be used as a weekend car as I wanted to keep it for a good few years.

I don't want to put massive miles on the clock but I just love driving it, I think I'm an addict and the car is my drug lol ;)

Think that's my biggest problem I even drive the long way around sometime's :D

I quite often do a 40 mile round trip for a pint of milk in the evening ;-)

the mrs loves to drive it I just have too :-) i make sure I leave it on the low boost map (as it doesn't light tires up then ) cos she loves to smoke hondas and saxos when the kids ain't in the car lol

My was having a play against a monaro the other day, said the guy was pushing the monaro and my mate was only on half boost, he went on the slip road so my mate put his foot down and lost sight of the monaro from the rear view in 3 seconds lol

Yeah last time my brv and a few mates popped round to do a few mods to their cars she said she'd pop out and " get us boys some beers " ......

Pulled of the drive leaving a dirty great number 11 in rubber on the floor :-) turned up 40 mins later and must have been giving it the beans as every can of beer we opened exploded :'(

Maybe you should invest in a key locker just so you know your car is safe or just buy another one for your mrs then do a track day together ;)

I like the 2 scoobs idea but ,No way would I wanna be on the road at the same time as her lol

And she only likes going fast in a straight line (might buy her a train set lol)if I corner remotely quick I get that feeling of eyes boring into the side of my head and the occasional word even the swear filter would blush at

Last 4 months been used 2 out of 5 working days and weekends but i suspect it will get some hammer every day now the little one's arrived. After having a 2 seater for 4 years i'm loving the parcticality of a wagon again. Plus it's discret enough to be able to annoy just about anyone when the mood takes me. Not having a stainless exhaust on just adds to it as most people think its a family run around.
