NikTheGeek
Hi, my 20yo son wants a 95 Impreza. I have no idea if this model spans more than this year, I guess it does. What years would be suitable? He's just missed out on a mint looking JDM for £6.5k which he wanted. Any ideas where to look? Any specialists I should know about? insurance was surprisingly cheap once I was added on too! thanks in advance for any advice Nick
JenAK
Hi Nick, I joined the forum last year in order to sell my 1994 Impreza hatch but then decided to keep it another year. It’s insurance is coming up for renewal and as I’ve barely done 450 miles in it this year I think it’s time to sell. Not of the calibre your son has just been looking at but you may be interested. Have paperwork trail going back to 2003 when I bought it from (now ex) partner. We bought it in ‘98 so it’s only had “2” owners. Engine overhauled a few years ago, low mileage since then. Can send more details of you are interested. Jenny

JenAK
Hi Adam, I really just want it to go to someone who will enjoy it. I’ve spent a lot to keep it on the road and obviously don’t expect to get that back- open to offers but you probably want more info first. I’m on Surrey Sussex border. Car is insured until the 27th Nov ie this weekend, tax due in Dec and MOT due 9th Dec so it’s all a bit tight before I have to Shell out more cash to drive it. Live on farm so can be tried out on the farm road. Car is same as the P reg posted by Pat in October but not as good condition and I think 162k miles. Reg is M580 TWB. Not sure what the protocol is for comms on here re giving personal emails/phone numbers? Jen

Tidgy
a 1995 will be whats known as a 'classic' shaped imprezza, they ran all the way up to 2000 with some minor styling changes. post 1997 the interior was update and personaly i think its a big styling improvement on the earlier interior (but thats a personal preferance). A few things to bear in mind, 1. when it comes to running costs, they are a £30k performance car, even if you buy it for £5000. Regular oil changes (3-5k miles depending on how its driven) is a must. 2. They are old, even the newest will be 22 years old, so wear and tear, rust etc will be present no matter what. Unless you spend 25k on one thats had a bare Shell nut bolt up rebuild. 3. Beware cars being sold that arn't what they claim. Any turbo charged uk classic will be a uk turbo or turbo 2000, wrx and sti's were import only at that age. They were all 2.0 turbo (well bar the 22b, but you dont need to worry about that unless you have £250k to spend lol) 4. special editions were mainly just special paints and badges at that age. hopefully gives a few usefull bits of info for you 🙂
