Subaru XV- Is my Transmission 5 or 6 gears

I have a Subaru XV, with a Transmission Type of TR580KD7AA.  Does it has 5 or 6 gears?

It is just that it only occasionally, after much encouragement, changes up to 6th gear. 

But the mechanic only suggests it has 5 gears.

Is anyone able to decode the Transmission Type Code for me.

If it is a CVT then I guess as many as it wants. Continuously Variable Transmission

As Siluro said, CVT, an infinit number of gears. 

Look for another mechanic.
