  • No worries :-) Thats based on a 16" rim think yours may be an inch bigger Don't know if you'd be able to get them cheaper else where of you shop around. My work has an agreement with them to sup

  • Have a look in the doorframe i have two fitments available to me. At the mo i'm on 215/60/16 95 v But i'm sure the sticker says 205 can be used

  • Moved a step closer to getting my hands on the Forester today......replacement V5 has arrived for our trade in. Just waiting for the tax disc now, then it's all systems go  :D     Not too bad, cons

Mine was for the MOT and because the profiles 225 35's 18 the 35's are about £30 to £40 more than 40's but I didn't know that at the time so just paid for it and 6 months tax as it had ran out of tax so that was added on the price :)

For Forester you should get decent set of rubber for £315 & even a little under £300 is possible pending on your exact criteria & luck on any deals at time of purchase.

Don't think that bad really in this day & age plus as the Fozzies are good on tyre wear so makes it less frequent billing :-)

Worth checking with insurance company to see they ok on it, T is 118mph & one rating lower than OE H 130mph rating.

Did see them when wanted some for mine but as local tyre shop had the Toyos on shelf from failed deal I decided try them as our run around pug HDI been good on the Toyos plus price was favourable. That Hankook is quite a nice tyre but no idea why they didn't do an H rating !

Really not keen on mixed tyres on 4wd such as Subarus, prefer set fitted as 4, better safety & better for transmission too. If you have 2 tyres very good it maybe worth rotating & using a little longer & also reviewing spare status as if that an old wrinkly, one of the better tyres will go as a spare.

Ok - quick update on this one. Just spoken to my insurance company (RAC) regarding the speed rating issue. The advice I was given was that I would need to inform them, but as long as the tyre size wasn't changing, it would just get 'noted' on my policy, but other than that, they would have no problem with it  :)

Cue many more hours spent researching T-rated tyres now......my wife will despair

T rated does open up a few more winter options & perhaps some other good all seasons like the Hankook Optimo 4S.

You should be able find something for your requirements and around the £75 price range which keeps the cost for a full set reasonable.

Changing tyre size is classed as a modification, dropping one step in speed rating is normally not a big deal but I would get a written letter or email to state you informed them of the fact as a belts & braces precaution.

Indeed mate......those Hankook's defo on the radar now  ^_^

Are you looking at reinforced tyres ? Everything I search for brings these up, I cant understand why as the forester doesn't weigh much more than the other subarus, at the mo I have two 'triangle' and two 'fedral' brand tyres (on the car when I bought it) looking at the noise and & economy ratings they outperform some premium brands.

I don't think I'm searching for re-inforced....not intentionally anyway. Up to now I've just put 205/70/15H in but will be searching T-rated now too

Ah I'm on 16's so my profile is lower too, does your car have the tyre pressure sticker in the door jamb? I have an alternate tyre size listed on mine

On the standard rim I can run 205/70 as well as the 215/60.
