Scooby Pete
Anyone had experince with the Hex Wheel nuts? was looking to replace the old grubby lockers and thought these may be an idea as pretty much every wheel nut is a locker. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111094728185?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_1975wt_1037
Tlag
There were some blue ones on a car I bought last year. Trouble was, the anodising was flaking which made them look really nasty. I have no idea how long they had been on the car though, or if they were the same make.
Gambit
Funny enough I was looking at some red ones I have them on the watch list. I did get some with a set of alloy's I bought brand new but I only used the wheels and nuts for about 3500k miles then swapped back to the OZ alloys. then sold them on as I was sick of moving them around the garage :( So can't really say if they was good or not other than they looked good :)
Jay762
was considering them for mine but didn't get around to it looked at these as well but wasn't sure about them all being logo'd http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-IMPREZA-GENUINE-STI-McGARD-LIGHT-WEIGHT-WHEELS-NUTS-1993-2007-/161219508686?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item25896e79ce

The ones I were looking at were £25 I guess they are made to a price, but at £25 a pop I'd replace then every year if they get manky. Jay762
Nice will look at getting some will wait to see how well they tighten up 1st see if you end up with any damage :D yup Pete there are a few of us all keen to see how your nuts tighten - just how do you go about it, particularly to avoid damage or strain
BoozyDave
they look good, but do stick out a bit one thing to consider, they are made to a budget, do you want your wheels held on by nuts made from cheap metal?
quit
Might just get my oe ones powder coated
cusco scooby wagon
have just blasted all my wheel nuts with the intention of powder coating next time i go,
Jay762
I would plate over powder coating - its not tough enough to withstand the socket or grinding against the wheel mounting face, will look shabby instantly.
cusco scooby wagon
i was thinking that too, ive a zinc plate guy i use that i might ask next time
Gambit
Well I was reading up on metals not sure what the ones Pete has but if it's Forged Alloy it's dame strong and cheap to make, I might get some that I'm watching but not sure to go red with the calipers
Scooby Pete
The bolts I've bought are for stock Subaru wheels, so are too small for the OZ wheels :( got some more on order so will have a set of black ones up for grabs. Pommy
I have a similar set on my car, not sure what the finish is, unfortunately they are always filthy because the alley which my drive is on isn't paved and has a river running down it at the moment making it muddy and horrible. But in general seem to be ok nuts. Don't stand out on my car as they are similar colour to the wheels though.
Scooby Pete
Did some more investigating and these are the correct nuts, how ever the beveled part of the nut is much shorter than the originals and the oz wheel nuts, not 100% sure they are fitting the wheel correctly as there is a fair amount of the wheels bevel showing around the nut. You can see the bear metal of the wheel showing.
Jay762
soooo this is a good thing right???
Gambit
I think they look great to be fair. I personally wouldn't worry too much about the bevel I driven on worse than that hell I was maybe on about 8 threads on each nut :D
Scooby Pete
We'll just found out they are a deff no no.
Gambit
Oh thats not good :( I mean he did say he recommends and not to do it but for fear of trashing or doing damage to them is a bit of a worry. :(
