Intercooler foam covering?

I have seen it on the top of bike and car radiators - it is there to get the air to flow through the fins not over the top, you can replace it for a better look or fashion a plate

And replace it with a new one?

 

I think taking it off and using heat, scrapers and chemicals will do the trick. Then I'll look for the right kind of foam to replace it with.

 

no, just to scrape the old stuff off and replace - will stop all the crud burning off on the exhaust pipes etc and smelling if you did it in situ  plus back ache leaning over to get it off
