Just done a change and brimmed filter then added nearly 4L waited for it to drain and settle only to find the dipstick is bone dry ?

Before anyone asks the sump plug is in amd the filter is done up,

Will i have to put nearly the whole 4.5L in or should i start he up ? Then check in ten mins

I was told mine took 4.7l at recent service, but appreciate your car not the same age mate

Rough man maths says thats 4.2 us quarts which is spot according to us specs, i've put in 4 and the level is now sitting on the full mark. Prob about right as i don't bother extracting with a suction pump. Prob around half a litre sat in the block.

I'll just keep an eye on it tonight

Haha after the L reading i did wonder what was going on, but after parking on level ground last night it was better. I was seeing the same idle pressure as i did before the change so i wasn't too bothered just glad it's ok. Still only taken just over 4L though
