Pommy Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 As per title really, have a new set coming as these need a refurb and new tyres, not sure how to get the same finish as this though? Or maybe a change of colour. Help and opinions please people.
Jay762 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 change teh colour - go darker to contrast the silver - full black will make the wheels look smaller though
Pommy Posted March 9, 2014 Author Posted March 9, 2014 Not a big fan of black wheels to be fair, was thinking something similar to how they are now or gold, always wanted gold wheels on a scooby
Pommy Posted March 9, 2014 Author Posted March 9, 2014 I'm liking the look of graphite, nice colour and will go well with Silver
quit Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I used ford sea grey !! Really panicked when the paint come out bright blue Bronze ?
V6Matty Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 i would say your looking at about £80 a corner to refurb those and change the colour, i would look at a gunsmoke finish might give you something similar to what you currently have maybe slightly darker.
Pommy Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 Will be doing the refurb myself, have done it before and not too tricky just a lot of time, and no where near £80 per corner. Looking more towards the graphite or dark grey at the moment
V6Matty Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 ah ok, never tried doing a refurb myself, i guess you need some specilest tools to do it?
Scooby Pete Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Regardless of Colour you'll deff need some nice new Tuner Nuts. I happen to have aset of brand new only been on car for half a day Black Tuner nuts. yours for £20.
Pommy Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 Matty, no special tools required, a lot of sandpaper is all really and time and patience. Lots of time and patience. I will probably be doing mine over the next year depending on time and space. Took me about 4 days last time I did wheels, although only that quick because it was the middle of the hotspell in summer so drying times were quick. Pete, thanks for the offer, haven't decided on colour of wheels yet so not sure on what colour nuts I want. And I no rush, may get back to you once decided though.
quit Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 I did my wheel colour change in about 3 hours don't take long on a hot day
Pommy Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 Each wheel took me about the same time, were my only set of wheels so had to do it one by one around work
